In his 'Trout Fishing in America' he has one story titled; 'Kool-aid Wino' that's funny in a funny sort of way.

He created his own Kool-Aid reality and was able to illuminate himself by it.

If you like Ken Kesey, and other offbeat witers of the day, you would like Brautigan.

I read Brautigan's obituary in the newspaper in 1969, 1979, 1989 and they must have forgotten about him in 1999 and 2009, either that or I've more or less quit reading newspapers.

Even Mark Twain didn't get that kind of attention from the press.

It's nothing. I hear all the time from Christians that gambling is a sin, and get bible verses thrown in there, but apparently no one on this forum prescribes to that opinion.

I'll say though if a man loses enough that he can't provide food, clothing and shelter for his own family then that is the worst sort of sin.

Most of my posts yesterday were somhow zapped into outer cyber-space, so pardon me if I have posted this before.

I know a guy who won $8 million in one poker game and put every last dime of it in the offering plate of his little church to further the Kingdom of God.

I'm willing to bet it's a moot point if you don't believe in God.

I had a lot of computer problems yesterday, I posted a very smar-tass reply to see if I could get a rise out of you but timing is everything in humor and it wouldn't be funny now.

Suffice it to say most people think 'moot' means the opposite of the traditional definition, look it up in your Funk and Wagnals.

What I do think is a 'moot' point; if one does not believe in God, isn't one gambling with one's own soul, isn't that the greatest gamble of all???
