I am 100% sure that you have no idea what you are talking about. But, I will give you this much, it sounds GREAT for your end of this discussion.
I do prison ministry. I have not been to a prison yet that has any where near that percentage of inmates that have found "religion" of any form.
no..you aren't 100 percent sure of anything. and it's funny you all of the sudden became a prison minister after my last comment. I'm not posting a link, just google it, i read some articles on it but i don't remember what the source was.

T-TownVol and Orangepridenation were talking about this enough to get me interested. And not being one to shy away from an internet challenge, I thought I would see what I can find regarding religious affiliation in the US prison population. The most referenced piece of research in articles and discussion forums seems to be a 1997 study by Denise Golumbaski, a research analyst for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. This study is referenced as a means to justify or bolster all types of viewpoints. One issue I have with it is that I cant locate a direct link to the original study or find it on an official website such as the DOJ or BOP. One of the Google search results does show a link to a pdf of the report through the Bureau of Justice Statistics. However, when you click on it, it takes you to their News Release page. And a search of that website doesnt turn up anything pertaining to the study
Anyway here is a link to one of the many websites that references the study:
Prison Incarceration and Religious Preference
