Renewed/New Shows Announced!

This is surprising given the cast announcements a couple of days ago.

ABC has announced the renewal of Once Upon a Time for a full 22-episode 7th season.

Just a couple of days ago series star Jennifer Morrison announced she would not be returning as series regular if the show was renewed. Real life husband & wife Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White) and Josh Dallas (Prince Charming) are also expected to leave the series after its current sixth season.

Just today following the renewal announcement Rebecca Mader (Zelena) announced she would not be returning as well.

UPDATE:

It’s official — Once Upon a Time is bidding farewell to several more key cast members — Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White), Josh Dallas (Prince Charming), Emilie de Ravin (Belle) & Jared S. Gilmore (Henry). They join Jennifer Morrison (Emma), who announced her departure last week, and Rebecca Mader (Zelena), who unveiled her exit this morning.

Once Upon a Time is still on? Geez.

Well as I posted it was just renewed this morning for a 7th season.

I also just updated my original post with more cast changes. Emilie De Raven (Belle) and Jared S. Gilmore (Henry) will not be returning to the show.

All of those cast cuts make sense anyway.

I'm glad I'll no longer have to look at Ginnifer Goodwin's ever shortening hair cut. Her and Prince Charming's story lines pretty much came to a close and they were adding nothing to the show. Belle was mostly relegated to a background character with no point. Jared S. Gilmore who played Henry pretty much just stopped acting this past season and was just reading lines. Zelena lost her powers towards the end of this season so her character pretty much became useless.

After originally announcing that it was cancelled.

NBC has reversed course and given a renewal to Timeless for a 10-episode 2nd season to air sometime next year

The rare move follows three days of very strong reaction from fans to the cancellation of the time-travel drama, which was the top pick in USA Today’s Save Our Shows poll.

There have been just handful series that have been canceled and then uncanceled by the same network, including Fox’s Breaking In and Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva. Coincidentally — or not — both of them and Timeless come from Sony Pictures TV whose executives had worked hard over the past few days to find a new home for the NBC drama.

Timeless, created by Shawn Ryan and Kripke, stars Matt Lanter, Abigail Spencer and Malcolm Barret, who all posted reactions following the cancellation, which rallied fans.

Makes you wonder if they were close to going to another Network and NBC was worried it would become a hit? Remember NBC originally aired the first season of the show JAG in 1995 but cancelled it with one episode remaining to air. The show was picked up by CBS airing season 2 in 1997 as a spring replacement show. The ratings of course took off and it aired for a total of 10 seasons until 2005 and its spinoff NCIS will be airing its 15th season this fall.

I tried to watch this and couldn't get into it..the only show I really watch is Beyond Borders..and Westworld and Stranger Things but who knows when those two will be back

Timeless really picked up after 3 or 4 episodes in. One thing I liked about it is that it has done a good job of staying fairly historical accurate. Something that a lot time travel/period shows don't really do.

Thanks I'll give it another shot.
