Just announced that American Idol will be coming back in 2018. ABC has picked it up after Fox cancelled it last year.

Before the series finale even aired there were rumors that it would ultimately come back but I'm shocked they're bringing it back this fast. Apparently some big wig fat needed to be trimmed from that brand and the only way to do it was to cancel the show.

I can't believe Grey's Anatomy hasn't announced a final season yet.

Hahaha! I was just saying to someone the other day that I can't believe that show is still running. I just checked the numbers and it's still holding strong at ~7 million viewers. It probably has 2 more seasons with those numbers.

Yeah, ratings wise it's still good enough, but it seems after this long the people involved in a show usually want to move on to something else.

Then again only a handful of the cast have been around the whole time so I guess to the newer cast it's not that old. And some probably realize this is this biggest thing they will ever work on.
