Rep. Giffords of Arizona shot

There have been a hand full of the presidents addresses that have caught my attention.
His address of this situation will be intriguing in the sense of what direction he takes.

According to news reports today, Obama has been advised by some to attack the political angle of the story. Interesting to see if he follows suit with the rest.

Just remember what Obama said after the Ft. Hood shooting! That we shouldn't jump to conclusions about the shooter until all the facts come out.

You would think the same restraint will be shown. Im skeptical that it will.

He will be one of the first if he does. Including part of the investigation.

Short of a clinical diagnosis, what can be done?

It is unfortunate, but just saying someone is unhinged isn't enough to cause law enforcement to pick them up and take them in for an examination.

Though I'm wondering if maybe there should be, although that could create a witch hunt, for sure.

Not sure. I've just saw a couple of reports on cnn when I was at the gym and all I could think was that several people sounded alarms about the but no one was able to do anything.

Just seems to me there has to be a level of common ground we can reach to where we say "ok this person may need help" and then do something about it.

That's easier said than done though. Think about the people that you come across just in everyday life that seem a little suspicious. What are we going to do, start reporting all anti-social behavior to the government? Volnation would need its own caseworker.

Attorney: Muslims a 'protected class' (OneNewsNow.com)

"Unfortunately in today's society, Islam has become a new protected class," Stemberger laments. "And the institutions of our society, starting with the media, are bending over backward to accommodate even the...wildest complaints and…the most minor of issues that they may raise."

New Zeal: Communist Party USA Amps Up Smear Campaign Against Patriots

205-150x150.jpg

Here's Communist Partyleader Sam Webb with Let's put blame where it belongs: right-wing extremism

The trail of evidence leads in one direction and to only one source: right-wing extremism.

Next up is Chicago Communist Party leader Pepe Lozano, with Sheriff, labor leaders: Right-wing extremism spurs violence

Civil discourse and hate rhetoric displayed by right-wing extremists on national airwaves played a role in the Tucson, Ariz. shooting, say labor leaders and Clarence Dupnik, the Arizona sheriff who is investigating the tragic shooting on Saturday.
--------------------

NormanMarkowitz.jpg

Even crazier is Rutgers history professor and Communist Party member Norman Markowitz, with The Arizona Murders and the Political Culture of Fascism

"Let me start by saying that the CPUSA’s statement correctly links the shootings to the political climate engendered by the ultra-right – not supported by the overwhelming majority of Americans at all – but hypocritically encouraged by “respectable” right-wing politicians like Palin, Tancredo, etc. is at the center of what has happened.

Let’s use the F word—fascism, because that is the only word which makes sense in understanding these events. Fascism is about these sorts of acts for its shock troops, not necessarily for the businessmen and politicians who use such shock troops to sustain and/or augment their power."

Patriotic Americans must not be intimidated by these deliberate lies. They must not cower, retreat, or take on any of the false sense of guilt that the left will throw at them in bucketsful.

I hope the gorilla is on the list. Loose canon.

Arpaio: Dupnik Should 'Shut Mouth' on Political Agenda in Tragedy

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio tells Newsmax that, if his fellow Arizona Sheriff Clarence Dupnik were an appointed chief of police instead of an elected official, he would be “fired tomorrow” for comments he’s made about the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and others on Saturday.
-----------------------

Arpaio, whose county includes most of the Phoenix metropolitan area, has been called “America’s toughest sheriff.” He has limited county inmates to two meals a day, banned “sexually explicit material” in prison, reinstituted chain gangs, and set up a “tent city” as an extension of the Maricopa County Jail.

You come across people who are "a little suspicious" everyday? Are you serious? What line of work are you in?

Maybe the real solution, one that doesn't freakin' bring the pages of 1984 to life would be to make it far more difficult / impossible for a Jared Loughner to buy a gun??????????

Is Obama's Gangbanger Attitude Responsible For The Tucson Tragedy? - Gate

As usual, the facts just don't fit their accusations. If you look around the world, other than the Muslims who are attacking everyone, those responsible for the majority of crimes against humanity are committed by leftists, including the massacre in Tucson. In America, you can go back as far as JFK's assassination, and you will find that an avowed communist named Lee Harvey Oswald was responsible. Then eight years later two more leftists made the news when one killed Robert Kennedy and another shot Martin Luther King Jr.

What the MSM doesn't want you to know is that the leftist who assassinated RFK was admired by none other than Obama's political mentor, William Ayers. When Ayers wrote his communist manifesto, "Prairie Fire," he dedicated his book to none other than Robert Kennedy's assassin, Sirhan Sirhan. This is but one reason that helps make my point that Obama is to blame for the shooting in Tucson Arizona. Like his mentor, Obama has very little regard for America or its citizens, and if that means he has to cause some chaos by pushing mentally unstable individuals into committing crimes against the people, so be it. He knows the MSM will give him cover and attack the right for his deeds.

If you want to see an epic global economic meltdown, do that.

It might cause some heart attacks in the corridor's of western power (especially if tribute countries were to put up some barriers), but it would be far from a global economic meltdown. It has, after all, worked well for China. In fact, it saved them from the late 1990s crisis in Asia (as well as Malaysia, I believe).

All of the rich countries of the world acquired their wealth with over a century of policy of strict protectionism (and, we are FAR from free trade now. We need look no farther than the entire Western agriculture sector, and, in the US, particularly the sugar industry.)

However, electing Tea Party members could send the wrong signals throughout the global economy. I may have misread.

Aside from the first list on the site, private citizen's donations were not factored in. Only government spending.

And on a per capita basis, we were still far from top. I think that's the real metric when trying to compare a country's generosity based on this metric. I do agree, it is a very good metric, as is the government one.

And that's just the raw data with the most basic analysis. If you really wanted to do this well you would weight the data based on the size of the economy (The GNI data is weighted, I believe). In that case, we would be even worse than the simplified (but powerful) analysis indicates.

I was aware of the government data, but I was actually shocked to see how poorly we compare in private donations too.

Are tithes accounted for?

I honestly don't know. I doubt direct tithes are included.

I would suspect the Catholic countries do quite well with this metric.
These Six Flags over Jesus churches don't get corporate sponsors. Money has to come from somewhere. In other words Protestants give too, and they don't get invoices from the church!

I see evidence of individual gifts at everywhere I look. Now we could debate what the churches do with the money. They have deifinitely failed in dealing with the poor (overall), but the American people do give. Suggesting otherwise is foolish.

Just to keep a list of those blamed by the left:

Limbaugh
Levin
Savage

and this gem

"Whether [political rhetoric] caused what happened in Tucson or not, it’ll cause the next tragedy," Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) predicts on FOX News.

I like Joe. Some of his crusades were a little useless but his main stances were things I could agree with. Not many people enjoyed tent city in the AZ summers
