Fox News confirms Donald Trump will endorse Mitt Romney for the Republican nomination for president

Why in the hell a day after the "I'm not worried about poor people" sound byte would Romney accept the endorsement of Donald Trump? It's like something from a sitcom.

Not sure a Trump endorsement helps the guy trying his hardest to have a stable, non-circus sideshow image. Newt's taken on that mantle up to this point. Now the guy who dropped and slammed the party and took his ball and went home over his failed debate is coming back to endorse someone for that party. The GOP really has tanked on the image factor this cycle.

He couldn't be a more perfect fit for the rich white guy stereotype

He is pretty popular and is a good American story. Anyway the endorsement is a total yawner

Trump? Popular, yeah. Politically respected?...

A good American story? Yeah, we all love those ones where white guys born rich pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

For Paul and Romney, a strategic alliance between outsider and establishment - The Washington Post

RENO, NEV. — The remaining candidates in the winnowed Republican presidential field are attacking one another with abandon, each day bringing fresh headlines of accusations and outrage. But Mitt Romney and Ron Paul haven’t laid a hand on each other. They never do.

Despite deep differences on a range of issues, Romney and Paul became friends in 2008, the last time both ran for president. So did their wives, Ann Romney and Carol Paul. The former Massachusetts governor compliments the Texas congressman during debates, praising Paul’s religious faith during the last one, in Jacksonville, Fla. Immediately afterward, as is often the case, the Pauls and the Romneys gravitated toward one another to say hello.

Romney’s aides are “quietly in touch with Ron Paul,” according to a Republican adviser who is in contact with the Romney campaign and spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss its internal thinking. The two campaigns have coordinated on minor things, the adviser said — even small details, such as staggering the timing of each candidate’s appearance on television the night of the New Hampshire primary for maximum effect.

LOL. RP for VP

You can laugh if you want, but you have to admit it would bring in some younger voters to the GOP that have traditionally voted Dem.

I can't see RP supporters voting for Obama....unless they're the ones that are young, just want to be trendy, and don't care about policies. Paul and Obama are kinda opposites.

It may bring in people that would write in Paul.

This is true, but to many voters Romney and Obama are not that different... and young voters tend to go Dem. That was my point. By adding Paul to the ticket, Romney would pick up some of those voters.
