I was trying to prove a point with her, but I guess she ain't playing.
You aren't proving your point, because you don't know why I like Duke, do you? Hmm No. And again, if it were winning teams, then it would be UNC, Florida, Memphis, etc. that I would be rooting for.
I like multiple schools, most because they have some relation to one of my alma maters, or UT because I'm a die hard.
I don't want to hear about your family relations.I don't even follow my school and they have made it to the tourney the past two years, and should have beaten UT in one of them. :birgits_giggle: The schools I cheer for have relations to my family.
I've been a Tennessee fan since 1989. I grew to love all Tennessee sports, most all Football and Basketball. Tennessee Basketball used to be horrid, but me and my brother would listen to games on the radio. (since the games were rarely televised even in Tennessee). I despised all the good basketball programs in the country. My best friend growing up was a Kentucky fan. So I guess for me its hard to understand why a "die hard" Tennessee fan would cheer for another team. Especially a good program like duke.
Hey man I can totally understand. There is nothing more frustrating than a bandwagon fan. It makes me sick to see ppl doing that. Most all great historic teams have a bandwagon fan base (Yanks, Sox, UNC, Duke, Cowboys, etc) One of my best friends is like that. Its not fun to like the "losers" but if you are a true fan you will love them no matter what. I would attack hell with a squirt gun to defend the Vols.
