Rhode Island 21 - Duke 12

I was trying to prove a point with her, but I guess she ain't playing.

I know duke football isn't good, so why like it? But they look better than Tenn, so maybe I should jump on board with them this year. No. Besides the football coverage and basketball coverage is MUCH different in this area. During football they show SEC schools mostly, top 25, SC and clemson games. During basketball they show UNC, Duke, and well thats about it.

it's funny how you can't even prove your point yet you think you are based on what? probably your assumptions.

You aren't proving your point, because you don't know why I like Duke, do you? Hmm No. And again, if it were winning teams, then it would be UNC, Florida, Memphis, etc. that I would be rooting for.

I agree. Duke hasn't won a dang thing the past few years. They have been great at getting elminated right away

I like multiple schools, most because they have some relation to one of my alma maters, or UT because I'm a die hard.

I don't even follow my school and they have made it to the tourney the past two years, and should have beaten UT in one of them. :birgits_giggle: The schools I cheer for have relations to my family.

I don't want to hear about your family relations.

My alma maters generally suck at everything these days. One is a non scholarship outfit and the other let me play ball, which should tell you plenty about the quality of play.

But I like them because of my aunt and uncle that live in Charlotte. They are dukies; they are the only family I have in the vicinity, so once you spend time with them often because they are close, you end up doing the things they like. And well Duke was one of those things, so Duke grew on me.

I've been a Tennessee fan since 1989. I grew to love all Tennessee sports, most all Football and Basketball. Tennessee Basketball used to be horrid, but me and my brother would listen to games on the radio. (since the games were rarely televised even in Tennessee). I despised all the good basketball programs in the country. My best friend growing up was a Kentucky fan. So I guess for me its hard to understand why a "die hard" Tennessee fan would cheer for another team. Especially a good program like duke.

Hey man I can totally understand. There is nothing more frustrating than a bandwagon fan. It makes me sick to see ppl doing that. Most all great historic teams have a bandwagon fan base (Yanks, Sox, UNC, Duke, Cowboys, etc) One of my best friends is like that. Its not fun to like the "losers" but if you are a true fan you will love them no matter what. I would attack hell with a squirt gun to defend the Vols.

My best friends family were also big kentucky fans and I love them dearly, but I despise kentucky basketball. My friend had a kentucky cake for his 13th birthday and his family were very upset at me because I would not eat the cake just because it was kentucky. Its funny when I think about it now.

when is it ever fun? :p

I'm not windy either, but I love the color blue, all my dad's side of the family is from n carolina and I was a PG and thought the world of bobby hurley and coach k. As a wee liitle lad I had no idea they were going to be the most dominant team for a decade. If UT basketball never wins another game I won't be too upset. To add to all of this, I have seen 4 duke games in my lifetime, but I would estimate close to 15-20 games at TBA.

Windy, I'm pretty sure you've admitted that you would like to see a game at cameron indoor. Is that no longer true?
