Agreed. If the crime is so bad it deserves a lifetime of punishment the criminal should be locked up for life.
I never have understood stripping someone of any right after the justice system has determined they have paid for their crime and what society has determined to be their debt . Never made sense to me .
The general public. Licensing freezes out competitors and inflates prices to consumers. Unlike actual victimless crimes, this form of crony capitalism is illegal for good reason.
Guess we need to jail all government officials then. Government creates all kinds of barriers to entry.
But general public is good. Please find me the harmed individuals.
Yes
You seriously can't connect the dots with the information provided? If you were a competitor putting a ton of resources into being the best candidate but lost out on the license because you didn't pay bribes, do you think you would feel like you were harmed by this corruption?
Just curious, but this country leads the universe in prison population. Why is more people being set free necessarily a bad thing?"President Donald Trump signed an executive order Tuesday granting a full pardon to Edward DeBartolo Jr., the former owner of the San Francisco 49ers who pleaded guilty to a felony charge for his involvement in a gambling fraud case in Louisiana in the late 1990s, according to White House spokesman Hogan Gidley.
DeBartolo was suspended from the NFL in 1997 and fined $1 million over an extortion case involving then-Louisiana Gov. Edwin W. Edwards. As the star witness, DeBartolo testified that he paid Edwards $400,000 in exchange for his help in securing a riverboat casino license. Edwards was convicted of on racketeering, conspiracy and extortion charges in 2000.
DeBartolo eventually ceded control of the 49ers to his sister, but was still inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016 for presiding over a team that earned five Super Bowl trophies during the 1980s and ‘90s."
Must be cool to be able to buy "justice", huh? Hurrah for America!
It's not. It's that Trump is the one doing it. Some cannot separate action from the person taking action. Trump did something, therefore it must be horrendous and despicable.Just curious, but this country leads the universe in prison population. Why is more people being set free necessarily a bad thing?
