This was expected, but Trump is using his pardoning power to reward people who have voiced support for him during his past controversies. Whether the person was guilty as sin or not, isn't being taken under consideration. These pardons are purely transactional. How much have you done for Trump?

Not every president does things like this. The pardoning of the Blackwater security guards is particularly egregious here. It is well known that the former head of Blackwater during these murders of civilians (and yes, that is what they were) was Erik Prince, who is the brother of Betsy DeVos, Trump's Secretary of Education. He has been lobbying for these pardons for years and also donating big money to Trump. This is despicable and swampy has hell... but we only have 4 more weeks of this crap.

Not a worry. Pardons have been given for loyalists' familial connections. Trump's pardons are mostly aligned with loyalists, but it is at his absolute discretion. It's one of the perks afforded to POTUS. Not an issue in MHO

Don't care one way or the other. All Presidents pardon people. I can't do anything about it. Now do Obama's 212 pardons and 1,715 commutations.

George W. Bush once rescinded a pardon after he learned that the father of the man he had pardoned, had recently donated money to Republicans who had been lobbying Bush for the pardon. Of course, the president can issue these pardons... but that doesn't mean he should. These kind of shady pardons are always done after the election, when the president is on his way out the door with nothing left to lose. That makes it appear gutless. If there is nothing wrong with the pardon, then why didn't you want to answer for it during the campaign, Mr. President?

*And this isn't a partisan attack. Bill Clinton's pardoning of fugitive and ex-pat Marc Rich in 2001 was just as wrong as anything Trump has done.

I just did Bill Clinton's pardoning of Marc Rich from 2001, which you would have seen if you were capable of reading. This wasn't a partisan attack, as I also just said. READING IS FUNDAMENTAL ... you should learn how to do it.
