Rich Men North of Richmond

The song is fine. I like it, but it's a bit comical how it's sweeping the nation and has people "blasting" it all over Terra Haute.

The underlying message is great (about taxes and spending) but I can't take it too seriously when he's hitting politicians with silly lyrics about other poor people and fudge rounds rather than something like the military industrial complex. Also, politicians write the laws and the laws most certainly protect minors, so wtf is the actual gripe there? Epstein was arrested. Why are we mad at DC about that rather than...the military industrial complex? You know....things that do the most to actually enrich DC.
Sounds like you have a song to start writing.

you guys have your own anthem…

Mm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said that all must lend a hand
To make this country strong again
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said we must be fair today
Equal work means equal pay
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

What's your anthem? "Angry Old Corn Picker?" "Grumpy Old Codger"? "Mad Old Goat Farmer"? "Here's How I Spell Curmudgeon"? "Cranky Country Geezer"? "Everything Bothers Me"?

I think the minors line is about coal miners not minor children. It's the only way the line makes any sense within context of the rest of the song. Care about coal miners not minors on a Island somwhere

4 people have more money than 4 billion people combined and the problem is the poor woman at the store buying fudge rounds? Nah...

I think it’s about both.

Care about miners in the ground
Not minors on Epstein’s island

Ahhh, miners.

I guess I'm ignorant but what are politicians supposed to be doing for miners?

Our nation’s Anthem. Angry Old Corn Picker places though

We got people on the street with nothing to eat and the obese milking welfare
If you're 5 ft 3 and weigh 300 pounds taxes ought not pay for your bag of fudge rounds..

Pretty sure he's talking about the EBT abuse. To say it's out of control is an understatement.

People living on the street with nothing to eat most likely either don't know about or for some reason don't have access to certain govt programs that could help them or they have a drug problem.

It's 2 separate issues.

People on the street with nothing to eat and the obese milking welfare.

And the obese that are milking welfare are 5'3" and weigh 300 pounds and they're using their ebt to buy bags of fudge rounds. And sodas. Or selling them to restaurants for 50 cents on the dollar.
I mean...it's pretty obvious to me.

Like the people on assistance don’t have access to jobs.
I agree with you. No one should get an absolute free ride. That being said, there should not be (drug free) people hungry and living on the street in the best country in the world. Those people need help, most likely mental help, which they do not have access to.

I just don't get why people are so upset with that person who is fat and on welfare. My kin who is fat and on subsidy is handicapped. I'm sure people are pissed when they're buying fudge rounds but those people can kindly **** off. It's impressive enough that they're not completely dependent on the government and don't have to be a ward of the state, or whatever.

The fact of the matter is, these people do not hold political power. They do not have any kind of power. Some of them milk the system and it has some impact on us, but it's nothing compared to the rest of the BS happening in DC. If we cut EBT off altogether, it wouldn't do anything to change what you pay in federal taxes and the government would still be spending beyond their means.

The rich in DC are rich because of the military industrial complex and all the other kinds of bug contracts that are awarded. These dudes hold power and milk the government for much more than fudge rounds, the MIC specifically encourage us to be the world's police, they get our boys killed for stupid causes, and we spend trillions and trillions. But let's worry about fat people who might be barely able to take care of themselves getting government money.

And if we're being honest about being mad at obese people who burden us, let's just be mad at every one of you because you are all pretty much imposing costs on us, in one way or another. I pay the same health insurance premium as morbidly obese co-workers do and my healthy lifestyle helps to offset the cost of the fat guy at work drinking all the free sugar soda in the break room. Nah, I'm not gonna live that way and begrudge them. Go ahead and drink another Mt. Dew Marty. Just please, sincerely, don't die on the stairs.
