Rich Rodriguez Turns Down Bama (Merged)

Mal Moore and most bama fans thought their Alabama is still that national championship Bama, and any coach, such as RR, should be very proud to be considered as Bama's head coach, and should be more than happy to accept the 2+m/yr offer from the glorious University of Alabama!

Nope, not any more. What's next? Is anyone on the market at the same level with RR? IMO, no, not even close. Paul Johnson? Proven winner, oops, Div. IAA; Jim Grobe? oops, 67-66-1; Jeff Tedford? "quarterback guru"! Go ahead.

If I was Mal Moore, I would probably do what Miami did, hire Joe Kines. But I am not sure if he would satisfy those Bama fans. So when they look back, they may want to think about it; is it really smart to fire Shula even without a serious candidate?

Thats what a lot of Bama fans don't understand they don't see past their crimson colored glasses they still think they are the best team, college etc etc in America when they are not even close.....coaches will continue turning them down because as I have said before their fans and BOT are nuts who wants to go to a place like that.....they just need to hire mike shearman who is the only one who wants the job

Dennis Green will probably be out of work after the NFL season. Heck, his fate was probably sealed after the Cardinals' meltdown against Chicago.

There is going to be immense pressure of Bammer to now look for an African American head coach. Not neccessarily from it's old money boosters and alumni, but from the typical hustlers.

Gene Stallings said on an alabama radio station yesterday he would take the job back for 2-3 more years. lol

A quote from wikipedia from a bama fan after finding out RR was staying:

Coach Rodriguez later lied on national television by stating that he was baffled concering the Alabama coaching job. He was very surpised and did not know what Alabama was talking about. By doing this, he shamed the game of football and shamed a program that has 12 National Championships. He will stay at West Virginia, where he belongs, and continue to lead a second rate club.

God this is too good

Well hmmm....

Who do we get? Only time will tell. I am going to get flamed, but I would not count out Saban at this point.

BTW I have been a good boy lately so somebody reward me with rep points.

Did I mention I love you Vol fans???????????

Objectively, why would Saban leave his current position? If he was interested in CFB wouldn't he have stayed at LSU where he was building a dynasty? Bama would be crazy to exceed the $ he's making with the Dolphins.

Well basically he's coming down to a bad finish at Miami and maybe even a candidate for a good firing. Maybe he'll decide he wants to settle back into a nice college job.

I have heard that we had approached him and one of the deal killers was that we had to wait until the end of the reg NFL season. Well we wouldnt have that. Now we may be forced to wait it out, and this may make him an option.

Great point Vavol87. That is something to consider, but then again if noone wants to coach you, you have to wait! LOL!

Also I am hearing that 18 of 22 recruits have committed so far.

I just don't understand why a lot of Bama fans are still talking about Saban. I believe from the very beginning, Saban is the last person who wants to come to Bama. First Bama should be able to give him at least 4 million dollars a year, and I am pretty sure Bama wants to pay for this much if Saban came. But the problem is Why would Saban want to come to you Bama? Please give him a reason. Bama fans better pray for Saban getting fired, but this is very unlikely to happen...

i think if he does ultimately get fired from miami, having a job opening for 4 mil a year will be a pretty darn good reason. Going undefeated in November saved Saban's job in Miami for now. If he suffers a bad December, he could still get fired, bringing him back into Bama's picture.

This beats all I've ever seen. Now Saban is back in the mix for the Bama job?

Will the madness ever end?

:mf_surrender:

I told you RTRev would come in with Saban. Now if he will just declare it a stone cold lock, we can be assured he ain't going to Bama!

No way Saban, would leave 5MM a year at Miami.

Alot of the Arky's are estatic, they think Nutt will get back in the mix.

I personnally don't think Nutt would leave after going winning 10 games and playing in the SECCG.

As long as they find someone other than Cut...

Look what he did with Ainge this year, can't wait to see the improvement, when we line up against Cal at Berkley next year..

Well, I am not saying anything is in stone, I am just saying there is always a possiblity.

I WILL not guarantee anything at this point! LOL!

What about Solich from Ohio University?

I never thought growing up and understanding the significance of the third Saturday of October. I would see Alabama fall this far.

How far to bottom......
