Trump tweeted that he "will not even consider" renaming military bases named after Confederate leaders. I'll leave that for others to argue about, but I'm curious as to process on this. Who gets the final call to rename (or not rename) said bases?

Changing the name of something doesn't change the thing itself. It wouldn't make it less of a military base or change who trained there. I guess Trump didn't get that line about roses in Romeo and Juliet.
It is an interesting question I haven't seen much about. With the bases being federal property and all, I suspect the local or state governments probably wouldn't get a say.Don’t know the answer to your question, but those bases are for sure getting renamed.
