In August 1862, Lincoln stated: "If I could save the union without freeing any slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that."

Reading Shaun King's statements on Jebus statues... he does make a valid point. Mr. Water Walker was NOT a white dude with blue eyes. In all likelihood, he was an olive-skinned, Mediterranean-looking Jewish dude. Never thought about that. Otherwise, no, suggesting that Jebus statues and images as a fair white man are some vehicle to keep the black man down is plain nuts.

However, Jesus was a Jewish man who lived in the Middle Eastern region presently known as the Levant. One statue I suspect is safe is the one in Baltimore of NFL head-hunter Ray Lewis performing his post-play blood dance.

Blood? Lewis copped an obstruction of justice plea in an unsolved double-stabbing murder of two black men. The blood-soaked white suit Lewis was seen in that night went missing, and Lewis curiously paid a settlement to the families of the two slain men.

The NFL would eventually hire him to push products. Roger Goodell embraced him on the field before a Super Bowl. ESPN hired him to try to talk football. A lifelong bachelor, he has six children from four women. American dream. I think his statue is pretty safe.

Mansour asked Campbell about the Veterans’ Memorial Preservation and Recognition Act of 2003, which Campbell sponsored and introduced in the U.S. Senate. President Trump announced his intention to enforce this federal law, which carries a ten-year jail sentence, against the protesters toppling statues.

Campbell said, “It’s really interesting. Sometimes it is said, ‘What goes around comes around,’ and I guess in this case that bill introduced years ago came around. I was disturbed, particularly because I’m a Korean War veteran, and some of the vandals defaced the Korean War Memorial. I had friends die in that war. It’s a very personal thing to me.”
