Gem from rival board:
"$$$. That's the only thing that makes sense.
How does a guy who has been committed for so long, recruit for us, stand firm, sees that we stay true to his commitment just de commit so close to NSD?
It's all about the $$$ "
lolz
The only and I mean ONLY thing that makes me nervous about all this is if Drew had the balls to publicly DE-commit from Ole Miss, why doesn't he just go ahead and publicly commit to Tennessee? Why wait until NSD? Call me paranoid but I'm still bracing myself for a huge troll job.
This is all just a #butchmove. He stages announcements with these guys for excitement and momentum. To have him wait to announce until Wed creates drama and then on the day it matters....BOOM, we have a signed LOI and it's a done deal. Everybody in the nation is covering signing day and all ears and eyes are open and watching. A bigger splash.

I was reading through all of these posts about Drew Richmond's decommitment and thought I'd just leave this here:

5-star Drew Richmond decommits from Ole Miss, per report - Red Cup Rebellion
The comments are priceless. There is some real wit there...not unlike how some artists do their best work after experiencing a grave tragedy. "Knoxville in Indian means '****ty Chattanooga'...bravo, seriously.
I wouldn't troll somebody in the depths of butt-hurtedness, but if I did....I would be as sympathetic as I could be. Not the cheesy see-through sympathy, but the kind with serious well-wishes sprinkled with reasons to stay up-beat. A genuine pat-on-the-head ...while being totally oblivious to the rancor that ensues.
But no - we've all been there...best to leave'em alone.
I just read the Red Cup Rebellion thread......I'm stunned. The amount of vulgar, hateful, vitriol is stunning. I know everybody has posters like that, and they frequently are susceptible to a pack mentality.....but these clown raise the bar. The language, and references used by so many show where their minds are.
But worst of all.....they are from Mississippi. The education, income, and welfare statistics of that state alone should disqualify them from this discussion.
I think they're projecting.

Look at it from the other side.
All you hear from UT over the last few years is "We're one of the best programs ever that has had the worst luck. We got screwed by two coaches and it was so unfair!?!? Everyone else in the SEC sucks and other than Bama we have the best history". **UT is mediocre for a few years then BAM, Butch Jones comes and the same talk about rising back is mentioned. UT has a decent year, but has an incredible class. Now UT fans are all like** "Screw the rest of the SEC. We had our years of being average. Now it's time for all overachievers (Vandy, Ole Miss, Miss St, Mizzou, etc) to be put back in place and for UT to ascend to its rightful place".
Personally I'm not bothered by it. I understand some of the roller coaster emotions of the last few years. UK basketball went through a similar slump and coaching change. But the UT fans I knew in real life, some of them on VN, and overall from people I talk to...UT fans do come off as a bit arrogant and having a superiority complex. Obviously there's a lot of good fans out there in orange, but just my two cents. Same goes for UK basketball fans. Sometimes you don't see how your fanbase appears until you hear what others say about you.

Haha I posted the all time win-loss record in the comments (UT 44 - Ole Miss 20) after reading all their posts about how they beat us 34-3 last year. Made the point that even if they beat us for the next 20 years straight we'd STILL have a winning record against them.
After about an hour I come to find my post was deleted and that I have been banned from commenting on SBnation!! The ole miss butthurt is at an all time high right now hahaha.
