RICHMOND JUST DECOMMITTeD

I'm sorry....I don't speak Kentucky.

My response was a little flippant....but I meant no harm.

Little Cat....did you read the Red Cup Rebellion reader comments. Nothing in our history, or anyone else's,warrants the level of vulgar depravity displayed in those responses.....especially in regards to something that will be forgotten in a weeks time. It was this, that I was referring to.

If you read it, I believe you'll agree.

Not really a superiority complex when you are, in fact, superior :zeitung_lesen:

It's arrogance, and even if you're the best at something, it's silly to trash everyone around you. Eventually it comes back around and bits you in the ass. Even if it's true (and yes, it's true historically, but lets still remember UT went 7-5 and Ole Miss has more wins in the last 3 years) it's still bad class. UT fans say the same exact thing about the Bama and UK fans. It's a two way street. Personally I don't care if UT fans act stupid or not. There are some great people I know who are classy and nice to talk football with. Volnation cant change that. It's a personal choice of how you want to act towards others. Just remember how it felt during the down years, all the bad losses, the recruits that didn't come and were busts, and then maybe some humility would help.

Not accusing anyone on VN of this. But I see UT fans here and on other sites trash other programs, direct hate at coaches/players, and then point the finger and laugh at other schools when something bad goes their way. It's a slippery slope.

Like I said in another thread, I think it's stupidity all around. Ole Miss fans have no business saying UT is a downward trending team, worse than Memphis and is cheating like crazy. On the same hand, UT fans are very quick to trash the Ole Miss program. My post in this thread wasn't all based on this particular thread, but an overall trend that has been going on for a long time.

No harm no foul. I mean no disrespect. Every fanbase has it's goods and bads.

Look at it from the other side.

All you hear from UT over the last few years is "We're one of the best programs ever that has had the worst luck. We got screwed by two coaches and it was so unfair!?!? Everyone else in the SEC sucks and other than Bama we have the best history". **UT is mediocre for a few years then BAM, Butch Jones comes and the same talk about rising back is mentioned. UT has a decent year, but has an incredible class. Now UT fans are all like** "Screw the rest of the SEC. We had our years of being average. Now it's time for all overachievers (Vandy, Ole Miss, Miss St, Mizzou, etc) to be put back in place and for UT to ascend to its rightful place".

Personally I'm not bothered by it. I understand some of the roller coaster emotions of the last few years. UK basketball went through a similar slump and coaching change. But the UT fans I knew in real life, some of them on VN, and overall from people I talk to...UT fans do come off as a bit arrogant and having a superiority complex. Obviously there's a lot of good fans out there in orange, but just my two cents. Same goes for UK basketball fans. Sometimes you don't see how your fanbase appears until you hear what others say about you.

I see it everywhere. NFL fanbases, Bama, UF, UK BB, OSU and etc. I do my best to show support without putting others down. I can't really justify why we do this but I know every fanbase does about "their" sport or claim to fame.

"901 i get your point

but Nick Saban does this **** with elite 5 stars all the time. Granted, Freeze hasn’t built the reputation to be able to emulate somebody like Saban, but at some point you have to put your foot down.

What bothers me the most about Drew Richmond is that he is a little ***** who whined to Freeze every time he was looking at other big OL (Rankin, Weathersby, Ivey). So Freeze said "if you’re solid with us, I am solid with you and I won’t recruit other guys. You’re my LT." Then he pulls this **** 2 days before signing day. That’s ****ing BS. I get it…everyone says these are kids and they change their mind blah blah blah, but that doesn’t make it any less ****ed to do to someone who’s livelihood is riding the the scoreboard. People say, adults questioning a 17 years olds character in recruiting is a terrible thing to do. **** that. I’ll question his character all day if I want. He’s a little cry baby *****. And that’s not sour grapes, I assure you. I remember the moment he committed way back when that I felt like this kid was completely full of himself, loved the attention, and was all about the drama. As opposed to Javon Patterson, who is just as elite as Drew, who was very mature in this process.

Look at the photos of Drew Richmond. I am not kidding. He has that prep school smug look on his face. I know that look because I went to prep school with a bunch of whiny titty babies. He looks like a guy who is an immature attention whore. He has the makings of a bust. He’ll arrive at UT, as a freshman and all of a sudden nobody gives a **** anymore and he’s gonna get butt-hurt. If everything doesn’t go perfectly for him, don’t be surprised if he transfers to recreate the attention he got in recruiting. You see it happen a lot with 5 star guys.

In addition to the fact that I think he is a bust in the making and felt that way form the beginning, I am pissed at how he embarrassed our coaching staff publicly. Going to Tennessee and having other recruits tweet at Freeze and have him sorta laugh along with them is really ****ed up considering all the time and energy Hugh & Luke put in to getting him to Oxford. I don’t care if you’re 17, 18, or 45 that shows a extreme lack of maturity and a lack of an understanding of the real world. The real world isn’t MUS. He’ll learn soon enough, especially when the seniors tape is freshman ass to his locker.

If there was ever a year when we could **** up and learn some lessons, etc it was this year considering our limited scholarships, etc. Experts said we’d be lucky to pull a top 25 class. We could end up with one around 15. Granted, we have a gaping hole in OT & LB, so we’ll have to hope that the Juco ranks can make up for that next year."

Again...I think your missing my point. You're talking about irrational fandom, of which we are all guilty. I am referring to vile, vulgar insults that really have no place anywhere. It's not a rational response to anything.

I challenge you to read the thread in question and deny it.

I don't care to read garbage again. I already saw a ton of posts by OM fans that weren't true, extremely vile (like you said), and don't need to be directed at any program. I already said I made my point in reference to many things apart from one particular thread. It goes further than just words on a screen.

Joe Dean Jr. needs to update his Dad's famous SEC Haves and Have Nots.

Pre expansion days the Haves were Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, LSU and Tennessee for football.

That left Kentucky, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Vandy as the Have Nots.

Arkansas and A&M are definitely in the Haves historically. On the fence with South Carolina who has a pitiful pre-Spurrier history and Missouri who likewise isn't historically relevant football wise.

Ole Miss doesn't want to fall back to the Have Not status. I get it. I haven't liked dipping into that status myself.

I have a buddy who's an OM fan. He says the OM fans have penned DR as "Drew Who?"

For you younger guys, it's a reference to "Archie Who?" and later "Peyton Who?"

To get tagged with the "Who?" name, they must really feel betrayed and feel like it's a huge loss (which, in turn, is a huge gain for UT)

There is a lot of truth in that rant assuming his facts are correct.

Really? Are you as close to the situation as the butt hurt fan to make that determination?

Hint: Neither one of you are close enough to the situation to know what is 'truthful' and what isn't.
