The only and I mean ONLY thing that makes me nervous about all this is if Drew had the balls to publicly DE-commit from Ole Miss, why doesn't he just go ahead and publicly commit to Tennessee? Why wait until NSD? Call me paranoid but I'm still bracing myself for a huge troll job.

Because Butch is going to use the 30 seconds following his announcement to introduce Debord. With all the excitement, VN won't realize what he said until Friday or Saturday.

We will be watching the basketball game and say "wait a minute"

Why wouldn't you just wait one more day to officially sign on National Signing Day? Besides, I think that was his plan all along but the Ole Miss coaches leaked that he decommited so it wouldn't be as embarrassing/heartbreaking on NSD.

The way it sounds he never wanted the de-commitment to come out. It was leaked by OM staff b/c they didn't want to look bad on NSD. Which makes sense. Now it makes sense that he still wants to have his NSD splash when he signs with us. I won't get excited until he's faxed in but even the most skeptical have to agree that it looks pretty good for us.

He did not publicly de-commit. He obviously spoke with Freeze last night (it appears to have been a combative conversation - they unfollowed each other on twitter soon thereafter) and broke the bad news to him. It seems that either Freeze or an Ole Miss staffer, wanting to get out in front of the story to avoid ESPN televised NSD embarrassment, leaked the news to the Ole Miss rivals site. I would bet that it was Richmond's plan to wait until NSD to make his intentions public.

Just read through all 24 pages of this thread just now. Wow Butch is on a another level. I'm pumped for this class. Last year was the class of our skill players and this year was our class of the trenches.

What difference does it make? What does making it official on NSD as opposed to the day before matter?

I just read the Red Cup Rebellion thread......I'm stunned. The amount of vulgar, hateful, vitriol is stunning. I know everybody has posters like that, and they frequently are susceptible to a pack mentality.....but these clown raise the bar. The language, and references used by so many show where their minds are.

But worst of all.....they are from Mississippi. The education, income, and welfare statistics of that state alone should disqualify them from this discussion.

I think they're projecting.

If they don't wait till NSD to make the Richmond announcement to UT, ESPNU may not have much to report on while they are on campus for the day. Just posting the 20 plus names of who sent in their LOI can only burn so much air time.
