Miami (FL): CanesInSight.com reporter Peter Ariz reports Mark Richt is expected to be named Miami head coach. CBS Sports had previously reported that the job would be Richt's if he wanted it. More coming on CoachingSearch.com.

The ACC just got a lot tougher. Good hire by Miami. Not the most desirable program, but maybe he can restore it.

I never denied Richt could go there, but it's not a good fit. I don't expect it to work out too well. At best, he repeats himself. Wins a lot of games, loses most the big ones and Miami is still behind FSU and UF in Florida.

Great move by Miami in hiring Richt! FSU and Clemson will have a lot more competition and the ACC will be much stronger.

Miami recruiting just got a lot better, that's for sure. not sure how patient they'll be? but i'd say at the moment anyway, he's moved laterally in to an equally bad division of a power 5 conference. maybe he'll win a title there. good luck.

From one recruiting hot bed to another. I wish him luck, he's a good guy.

atlanta metro is a great area.

Dade county and south florida is a mecca of college football talent. if he can get kids to stay, the U could get nasty again.

Miami (FL): CanesInSight.com reporter Peter Ariz reports Mark Richt is expected to be named Miami head coach, and ESPN's Brett McMurphy has reported the same, saying Miami officials are under that impression. But ESPN's Mark Schlabach reports Richt hasn't yet accepted it and isn't sure if he wants to coach. WSB in Atlanta reports Richt wants to be more hands-on with coaching and wants Miami to step up with support staff investment. More coming on CoachingSearch.com.

Looks like the report may be a little premature. Seems like Richt wants to bring in his own people with more money to distribute but the details haven't been ironed out yet

Exactly, this is good news for us. Historically, when Miami is strong, UF suffers from it. If Scott Frost gets something going at UCF, it will further dilute their recruiting pool.

Richt has never been a "do more with less" kind of coach, so this probably makes more sense for him. Go somewhere you can pull in great talent pretty easily and not take a job where you have to really coach up and scheme with 2 and 3 star players.
