Richt To Miami

Butch Davis was no less Howdy Doody, milk toast than Richt, and he turned it around.

The big question is whether or not Miami's administration will give Richt the budget he needs to assemble a solid coaching staff.

Do you choose to not use blue font or are you just trying to stir the pot? Either way, we both know this post isn't true in the slightest. Butch Davis was the slimy, undermine authority every way possible that Miami "fans" eat up. As LG pointed out, there are no real Miami alums that care a whole lot.

With Smart staying with Bama until their season is over, UGA's class is about to be ugly. I think Eason goes to The U.

By a guy who won two SEC championships at Georgia for the first time since Herschel Walker played there.

seeing almost half of the 33 years of post-Herschel Walker football were with Richt manning the helm, you only get style points for making your post seem effective. In reality, it's not.

I still can't believe UGA fired a guy who won 9 games just about every year, and hired a guy with zero head coaching experience. Maybe McGarity is a double agent for UF afterall.

As far as recruiting goes, there's plenty of in-state talent to go around for UF/FSU/Miami, in addition to USF/UCF/FAU/FIU and so on.

Historically Miami being up hasn't benefitted Tennessee or really anyone else in the SEC...makes it harder for those schools to come in and cherry pick Dade/Broward/Palm Beach.

But Tennessee potentially struck gold with the Smart hire. If Smart fails to lock down the borders like Richt did, UT could begin to lure some 1990s type talent from the Peach State.

Bowden use to say " we get 15 Miami gets 15 and Fla gets15 and that still leaves plenty for everybody else"
You nailed the Ga situation! UTs best years were the Goff, Donnan eras.

Mark Wilson leaves for slightly better FCS job.

Watson becomes AD, brings in brother Mack as Head Coach.

Every sport endures sub-.300 win percentage as result.

I think this is TT's next coach

Lenoir-Rhyne (N.C.): Head coach Ian Shields has resigned after two seasons leading the program. The school says Shields has accepted a head coaching job at an unannounced Division I program. Shields went 11-1 in 2014 and 6-5 this year

Had a better winning percentage plus a national championship that eluded Richt. Just saying. I think if our fan base would have been a little less harsh on him, a little less cruel, he'd be coaching now. We trashed his name and career imo. I know I was wrong especially after the last ( nearly ten years) of total nonsense endured.

My buddy works at the U in ticket sales. Said he did about 20k in sales revenue after he was announced. Pretty big number to hit in a day. Attendance will be a lot better next year for them now. If he brings in a good 1st recruiting class you might finally see fans at Sun Life.

WOW, that's a ton for them. Even when they dominated they'd have empty seats against lesser opponents.
