He would be the absolute best coach we could get, I agree with you there. 2 issues with him tho: 1, PR nightmare (for this reason alone, there’s zero chance DW would ever go this route.) 2, he would absolutely be looking to jump to a historic blue blood once his image was restored. Argument to be made whether or not we could retain him in this scenario, I’d lean no, but if we chose to shell out the money our pockets are definitely deep enough.

The other UT isn’t a blue blood, you’re right. Beard had been there 1 season and there were already rumblings of Kentucky back channeling to him before the arrest. The only thing that potentially keeps him there long term is that he’s a Texas alum. So we’re all speaking in hypotheticals, but you see the writing on the wall with an equalish program in Texas.

I’m an attorney, and the outcome doesn’t always matter in court. The reports won’t help him with most employers.

Exactly. It can and has been worse...much worse. Strong possibility that we don't make the NCAAT next year which might make some of our fans appreciate the times we do. Granted, we haven't exactly excelled in the NCAAT and have suffered some heartbreaking losses, but we're there. Not something to be taken lightly IMO.

I’m a big Barnes backer, just because you must consistently get high seeds to make consistent March runs. We are getting the high seeds on a better basis than every before, just gotta connect the runs. Would love to see CRB make one big one on the back end of his career for a multitude of reasons.

That context added to say, IF I knew for a fact he’d be here 8-10 years, I’d sign up for Beard tomorrow. He’s not realistic for both of the reasons I listed above, but in this perfect scenario I’d take him in a heart beat.

Beard was Texas’s dream hire. They wouldn’t have fired him if they didn’t have reason to believe he did it. The justice system is not 100% accurate. Just because the state couldn’t prove he did it, doesn’t mean he didn’t do it.
