There is a difference in winning a road game and beating a team that's winless at home. Just get the win and go home. No sense pretending anything great happened. The great Grunfeld/King team of ‘76-‘77 went 16-2 in the conference and twice beat Kentucky with Robey/Phillips/Givens and twice beat Alabama with Reggie King/TR Dunn. Their two losses were on the road to a mediocre Florida and last place Georgia. I quickly realized that no matter who you beat on the road, even if by just one point, it’s a great win.
Let me guess. You thought that was a great performance too. Take that to Alabama and see what you get. It's a team that's freaking winless at home. It's not your typical SEC road game. Our coaches made an adjustment and got us out of there with a win. The players even admited they were flat. Why can't you just admit the obvious. Can't help yourself
You would guess wrong. Please don't put words in my mouth.Let me guess. You thought that was a great performance too. Take that to Alabama and see what you get. There are some that can't admit the obvious and start jumping on fans discussing the obvious. Sometimes you win and don't play well. Nothing wrong with admitting it and discussing it. Another stinker by JJJ and Vescovi. Some are discussing that too even though it offends a small segment. There is literally nobody that doesn’t understand that.
Lol, as if it’s a little bit if criticism that bothers us, and not the fact that certain posters’ post-per-minute goes through the ROOF at the first sign of adversity and they disappear when we beat Bama by 20.There are some that can't admit the obvious and start jumping on fans discussing the obvious. There may be some that can't stomach any criticism, but mostly people just roll their eyes when this thread gets bumped with 15:35 to go in the first half as if every media timeout segment is a litmus test. There are some that can't admit the obvious and start jumping on fans discussing the obvious. Pretty good chance this team gets to 25 at some point in the postseason. That would be his 5th 25 win season here. Before him, we had just three 25 win seasons in school history.
Exactly. One of the main reasons I do my best to avoid this thread on game day. Way too many trolls and basketball illiterates infest it. Waste of time. There may be some that can't stomach any criticism, but mostly people just roll their eyes when this thread gets bumped with 15:35 to go in the first half as if every media timeout segment is a litmus test.
Some of our “fans” (and I use the term loosely) aren’t old enough to remember Wade Houston or Buzz Peterson and evidently paid no attention while Kevin O’Neill and Donnie Tyndall were there. Talk about embarrassing. Some of our fans are in for the rudest of rude awakenings when Barnes retires. Our March success is well-documented, but our entire history in March as a program is basically non-existent.
We (the fanbase) truly don’t have any idea how good we have it right now. People that can’t enjoy this success we are having now are going to be pining for Barnes when he leaves and we potentially go back to a Top 30-40 team instead of perennial Top 15 team. There is a higher probability the next guy is a bust than a Top 5-10 coach in basketball.
He's made us into one of the best programs in the countrySome of our “fans” (and I use the term loosely) aren’t old enough to remember Wade Houston or Buzz Peterson and evidently paid no attention while Kevin O’Neill and Donnie Tyndall were there. Talk about embarrassing.
Some folks need to learn to appreciate what we have and not whine so much. You are correct. It can get worse and most likely will when Barnes retires. Many of these erstwhile “fans” will be wishing he never left.
