Don DeVoe made the tournament 6 out of 11 years. Jerry Green made the tourney every year and a Sweet 16 and still got forced out. Barnes is no better than either of those two coaches. Asked on actual results.

From 1998 until Rick Barnes arrived, Tennessee's record overall was 374-213 (.637) and in the SEC was 174-120 (.592). There were 11 NCAAs, 3 Sweet 16s and 1 Elite 8 in 18 seasons. Barnes' record is 136-76 (.617) overall and 61-46 in the SEC (.565). He has 3 NCAAs and 1 Sweet 16.

Wow! This needs to be a post thread of its own so the Barnes worshippers can actually see the facts. I never looked this deep into the W/L % but have never been sold on Barnes being the “ savior” of our basketball program like many on here like to claim. Thanks for sharing.

But he’s not our coach anymore and isn’t going to be again. So no real point talking about him anymore , we just have to move on.

85 criticizes Barnes chronically. He’s obsessed with it and it’s dumb.

As a fan , I’m tired of the continued mediocre results from a supposed Hall of Fame coach that is one of the top 5 paid coaches in the country. I just pointed out in another post that Barnes and axon DeVoe are basically equals as far as what their accomplishments are at UT

If DeVoe doesn't get matched-up against Ralph Sampson and Virginia, 2 years in a row, UT may have a Final Four or another Elite 8

My personal life? That’s a bizarre statement Freak. I’m just a fan out here complaining about paying a coach the 5th highest salary in the country for the subpar results we continue to get. Has nothing to do with my “ personal” life
