he is a crutch to a high-flying tennessee team. i agree it was a bad comment taken out of context about hypothetical fans. we should not be this upset about it.

his frustration is the same as ours times 100. dont make him out to be any less or more than he is. he is a kid trying to do what he gerw up doing. playing football and trying to win.

I agree, he is frustrated, and he is a leader, but he probably shouldn't question or even try to define what a real UT fan is...

A- Stop exaggerating. I have seen Clausen throw passes more than 25 yards?!? and some of the other ridiculous yardage limits you guys are placing one him. He does not have a rocket arm, thats a given. This season he has thrown some passes that traveled probably around 40-45 yards in the air. Thats not a lot for an SEC QB, but far more than the "average" person.

B- QB's with Clausen's arm strength have been able to be very successful in major college football. White at Oklahoma won a freakin' National Championship and Heisman Trophy. White's arm strength is about the same as Clausen's. That is why he got almost no looks in the NFL and couldn't even make the Titans practice squad.

Bottom-line: He goes through the practice and the meetings and he plays his butt off on Saturdays, and therefore you who does nothing but type words on a message board need to keep your MOUTH SHUT!

clausen threw one pass over 20 yards saturday and it was underthrown, he would not start at any other sec school, he's a captain and should keep his mouth shut no matter how frustrated he is. i honestly do not think he can throw the ball 40 yards.

I might make that my signature.

Clausen can throw the ball more than 25 yards, just not where it is supposed to go. He has not been accurate on one single deep ball this season. Even the long completion to Fayton in the UAB game was underthrown.....he just got lucky that the db had already fallen on his ass.

Do you have any UT games recorded? If not, try to catch a replay on CSS or something. Pay careful attention to where he is standing and where the ball lands. I guarantee you will see a number of times where he throws the ball around 40 yards in the air.

40 yards in the air is still not very impressive, but I'm just trying to be fair to the assessment. Ainge probably throws the ball a considerable distance futher than 40 yards in the air.

I have all of them recorded, and again, he can get it out there but every long ball he has thrown has been off target.

Done listening to your blow hard bullcrap. I think your a member of the Clausen family.

I will not keep my mouth shut at your directive. In fact I will continue to tell Clausen to shut his pie hole and play.

Clausen shut your pie hole and play. :nener: :nener: :nener: :nener:

Better yet, I went to college, grad school to get a job, give money to the atheletic dept. My contribution is not to play QB, but by goodness, I can say I have done my part, and I can open my mouth.

That's what I thought when I saw a new post on this thread. I thought this was a dead issue.

Clausen is correct!

For a little info before it slips by everyone.
When Clausen was named starter after the LSU game Ainge threatened to go home but daddy talked him out of it.

Incorrect, Ainge was upset with how he played and called his dad for advice as most people would do. He never once thought about quitting and going home. :banghead:
