Ridiculous right wing fringe, Act I, Scene I

yet you seem to have no problems with obama and pelosi.

In a nutshell, my opinion of Obama is that while he might be more liberal than I'd prefer, he is intelligent and thoughtful. I might not agree with everything he does, or at least would wish that he'd slow down on some of it, but all in all I think he is doing a good job.

Pelosi is a difficult person. Without question, her personality and her general presentation grate on my nerves. But she's smart, and you have to give her credit for herding the cats when it came to getting the votes together for the health care reform bill. She's much more liberal than I would prefer, but given the dynamics of the Congress the last few decades, it seems like moderates on either side don't fit the mold very well.

The difference between the two of them and the people I cited above is that I get the sense that, regardless of their politics, Obama and Pelosi ponder the choices and think things through. The others just shriek.

For example, as to political conservatives commentators, I think a lot of George Will. Buckley was as smart and thoughtful as they come. Measured, reasoned debate. That's all I ask.

Sick of the soundbites.

You're not seriously buying Kerry's overblown act as a sign of intelligence?

The guy's a blowhard traitor, nothing more.

That is YOUR opinion. There are many retired decorated officers who don't share the same feelings about the man as you. If you don't agree with his politics, fine, but I would think a guy who is as smart as you wouldn't have bought into the SBV nonsense.

OK, I'll continue, despite your semantics.

They each took a class from the same professor, in history.

Kerry = 71 & 79
Bush = 88

Number of "D" grades received at Yale:
Kerry = 5
Bush = 1

Bush's lone "D" came in astronomy.

One of Kerry's? Political Science.

You check facts like you formulate arguments, both in hindsight and poorly.

Man, you guys just cannot stand it when you're clearly not the smartest person in the room, can you? I'd think you'd be used to it, at least somewhat, by now. At long last.

I had never seen a specific break down of their grades, I appreciate it for the entertainment value.

how exactly did Kerry get his 1st purple heart. i know he was shot, and i believe it was bc of his own doing. Kerry says that there was no enemy fire, but others say their were.

And your under the assumption that someone with a better grade is smarter. I know lots of people who made excellent grades in college with average IQs at best. They STUDIED harder and more often. More often than not, the smarter person is going to make the higher grade, but not always and that is my point.

I think trying to determine who might be the smarter of two guys who were C students is ridiculous

Nope. On either the right or the left. Can't stand Sharpton, Beck, Jackson, Moore, Penn, Coulter, and on and on.

Voted for Kerry only because I wanted someone smarter than a 2nd grader to get GW the f out of Dodge.[/QUOTE]

This is an instant classic.

Which is exactly why we are making fun of LG for his statement.

I think the point was that there was no reason to believe one was much more intellectual than the other.

Kerry was a POS long before the SBV silliness. His Vietnam debacle was pure political grandstanding and that makes him a douchebag. You won't find many officers that find him even remotely palatable, save this who have no idea how he raised his campaign money.

There you go again, putting words into my mouth. I never said such. Please stop it already. It's pretty obvious if you got grades, you must have studied your azz off.

I see reading comprehension isn't one of your strengths.

Fundamentally, I'm not sure how well college grades translate into your savvy as a president three or four decades later. I suppose that if one worked hard enough and had the gumption to earn status as a Rhodes Scholar or something like that, then you might take something from that. But as another said debating who was the better of two C students, meh, just not that meaningful.

what possible reason would he have to block it if he had the great grades that idiots like you say he had?

not only that, but it's also reported that Obama turned down lucrative offers from several high-profile law firms in order to become a street hustler for ACORN. To date, none of these firms have come forward or, for that matter, have even been identified.

Idiots??

I find it funny how YOU could call anyone an idiot. You can't even comprehend simple passages and statements, Mr "I make 5 times your salary". LOL
