Right wing loonies refuse to let others speak, debate

I'll give a damn when you show equal outrage at Code Pink or other left-wing organized groups preventing conservatives from speaking on college campuses.

I absolutely would oppose that. She should have her say and if people want to disagree with her they can have a subsequent news conference or hand out pamhlets taking issue with her comments.

bingo. when they did it to palin LG was not outraged in the slightest.

Not true. I do not recall seeing this kind of organized mob scene every time she tried to open her mouth, to drown her out so she could not be heard, but whenever and wherever it happened it is wrong and should be equally condemned.

I just saw an interview with a couple who attended the Dingell town hall meeting in Michigan where a guy shouted at Dingell about care for his son with cerebal palsy.

BTW - the couple were Democrats.

1. questions had to be submitted and were hand picked by Dingell's staff.
2. loud reaction only occurred when Dingell gave incomplete or misleading statements (people asked for more info but it was not given by Dingell)
3. pro-HC bill folks were allowed to have signs and were escorted to the front 4 rows.
4. a guy was carrying a sign depicted Obama as Hitler outside the meeting (beforehand). Afterwards, the same guy was giving out pro-Dingell (D - Mich) literature - they felt he was a plant.

Pelosi, Hoyer and LG are completely out of line in thinking this is all R staged. Folks (R and D) are angry and want their representatives to give real answers. Calling that un-American is the biggest joke I've ever heard.

I'll post the interview when it comes up on line.

I will be curious to see that interview. I assume it was on Fox, correct?

And since they are obviously anti-Obama and there to keep the spotlight on them and not on the facts, I'd take everything reported by them with a grain of salt.

Let me ask you something. Do you think anyone would hold up a sign as described above comparing Obama to Hitler and then be stupid enough to turn right around and turn out to be an Obama "plant," as you say? It makes no sense.

lg and his wife/gf. oh, and some guy with a goatee.

apparently there was a sign with a swastika with a circle slash over it. pelosi then reported that there were "nazis" at the meetings. misleading much?

Your kind and your party should never be forgiven for the treatment you gave our soldiers and their families during Vietnam.

The pieces of filth should not be given the chance to answer any thing when it concerns government control of our lives.

I was, like, 6 years old. I don't think I even knew what Vietnam was.

LG,
You are dead freaking wrong on this one. People are mad as hell, but they have every right to be.

Here in ATL, a congressman held a town meeting. the question and answer sessions went well until at about the 3 hour mark. A local pediatrician raised his hand and asked a simple question. The congressman went off on him verbally and would not answer his question. The meetings only get loud when the ELECTED officials will not answer legitimate concerns of the people, no matter which party they are with.

The left can not try to ram this down the throats of the American people and just EXPECT people to just "shut up and get out of the way", as BHO himself has said.

I don't know if they are anti-Obama or not. I think they are anti-parts of the HC plan and anti-politicians spewing BS and not listening to folks regardless of party.

It's revealing that you'll take the word of Dem leaders and a few sound bytes as your gospel of what's happening at these meetings but completely dismiss reports of people who attended.

Its spreading fear and (mis)characterizing everything the way you do that shows that you just don't know what you are talking about and are falling into the mantra of conservative talk radio.

Had you not backed out on your 10,000 posts promise, VN would be rid of 99% of that.

The GOP are the only ones who bitch? What about those dem supporters like Cindy Shehan, Micheal Moore, hollywwod waks and the way they said Bush should be killed????? Your kidding right?

This isn't in any way a new phenomenon. I want to ask you a serious question. Did the left and their whining and b@%*!!#* at every opportunity turn you away? It didn't seem to hurt the left at all, in some cases I think it helped them. The same will hold true with Obama IMO. As partisan and agenda driven as Bush looked to the majority of the American people Obama looks much worse (if people are being honest about the situation).

Typical reactionary BS.

Both of these get filed under the "I don't actually read before I post" drawer. Find me one, just one place, in that entire post that I said the GOP were the ONLY ones to bitch. My entire post was in the context of this HC debate and since the innaguration and that is why I didn't bring up the left criers too. Cindy Shehan and Michael Moore get put in this same category on the left. And yes KB, it did turn me away. I consider myself a blue dog democrat because I am for fiscal responsibility and liberal social agenda, not because I subscribe to the code pink wackos and peace protestors.

I guess it would make everyone feel better if I caveated every post critizing the GOP with the Liberal equivalent to what I am talking about...well, it sure would be nice for everyone on here to caveat every whine and moan about Obama's mistakes with those of Bush's. But let's play by the rules here, Obama's president and it is the GOP'ers who are coming across as the party whiners now. I have no problem calling out Obama's crap with UHC, unions, and spending...and at the same time, I will call out the whiners known as the GOP now, the same way they did with the Left when Bush was president.

If I only had a nickel for everytime one of the righties on here told me I need to realize Bush isn't president anymore.

And I for every time I heard Obama was going to be different.

I normally wouldn't make the comment but the hypocrisy from the left on this issue is the key story IMHO.

From minute one of the Bush presidency, what was going on at some of these townhalls and the general attacks on Team Obama were as shrill and constant as what is being criticized in this thread.

Both sides have loonies both have legit dissent. I believe these townhalls are predominantly legit dissent but the instant attempt to demonize and quash dissent is quite stunning -- particularly from the "big tent" champion of the people party.

When ever a social conservative has a moral slip they are blasted for their hypocrisy. I would say the same principle holds here. The party of protest is trying to quash protest -- it screams hypocrisy and supports the notion that they can complain but can't take complaining.

Those kids in high school....

:eek:k:

Obama's approval rating is below 50%, so somehow I don't think it's all Republicans/Right wingers that disagree with him.

But whatever makes you feel better left wingers.
