Worley is the starter. At this point Dobbs is 2nd string. Worley should have a better season based on better wide receivers. There was an easy 2-3 drops every single game that stopped the chains from moving.

Good accurate post other than your second sentence.....you've seen the depth chart? Not saying Dobbs is or isn't the 2nd string QB, just wouldn't state it matter of factly without knowing. And please don't reference the Spring game. Bray was 5-32 his last spring game and he was the starter.

Vol fans(myself included) are wanting the next Peyton Manning to come in off the bench and be a hero. Every unproven qb we will ever have comes to Knoxville with this expectation on his shoulders.

Only disagreement I have is that I have seen Worley play and I would actually rather have him on the field than any of the other QB's. We were able to beat #4 USCe with him at QB and the other QB's looked more like "deer in headlights" and I imagine RF would look the same way. Bring on the senior QB and let's do it!

I'm not disagreeing with you but go dig up the threads the week between the Oregon and UF games. This place was convinced Peterman was better than Worley because Peterman led UT on a spectacular TD drive against Oregon's waterboys and trainers.

I believe that Dobbs did a good job in the games he played last year considering the teams he had to play and the receivers he had to work with. We only had one big play threat and he was still learning all the routes. The others were consistently running the wrong routes or dropping balls that should have been caught. It will be a better year for whoever is the starting qb this year. If Dobbs is not the starter he will be second string. You cannot leave that much smarts and ability to run out of trouble sitting on the bench for long. Jmo.

We've had a few good quarterbacks after Peyton and I don't remember many people expecting them to be the second coming of Peyton. Peyton was a Freshman 20 years ago I think most people have moved on.

What should fans expect out of him? All anyone hears is that he will be the starter by X game because Worley will not make the entire season. Is it just hearsay and film from high school that everyone ( everyone meaning volnation) is basing his worth as a starter?

Heisman run.

His allure is that he hasn't seen the field. UT fans saw what Worley could and couldn't do and wanted Peterman. They saw Peterman stink it up at UF and wanted Dobbs. They gave Dobbs nicknames, etc. before he took a snap and he looked like a true FR when playing.

It's a microcosm of the only thing UT fans have at this moment, and that's hope. We've seen the other 3 QB's and HOPE Ferguson is better.

I tried to make this same point on here and got crucified for it. :good!:

Remember the Vandy game?

All the QB's will look better this year with a full year in the system and the receiving corps we have now. The QB's were all limited by our receivers last year. North was our best receiver and he was an unpolished true Freshman. Most of the time our receivers couldn't get open or they dropped the ball when they were. This year will be much different.

We dont really know enough right now. And until i do know enough about a player, I expect them to all be like Peyton, Eric Berry, Al Wilson, insert your favorite here.

He definitely looked to be in 3rd place after the spring but a lot can change. I personally hope Worley has a great season and there is no reason to think of benching him and starting someone else.

Most posters on here can't handle the truth. That's why they lash out at anyone who throws reality in their face.

There are many examples on here:

A posters started a thread on the basketball forum about Trea Golden being in trouble. The guy was crucified for a couple of days until the story broke.

A poster started a thread about Jenzen Jackson possibly being dismissed and he was crucified. Even after it became a fact, the guy was still blasted. Go figure.

In 2012, Heather Harrington asked Dooley in a presser about DaRick Rogers. She was called every name under the sun.
