for those who havent heard yet, our legendary voice of neyland stadium has passed away. He was longest standing pa announcer for any college in the country at 48 years. I really hope somehow someway they can have his "its football time in tennessee" be played on recording before every home game still.. Neyland wont be the same without it! Rip :hi:

RIP, Bobby. Another Icon gone far too soon. Can't see Neyland ever being the same without him.

Players and coaches come and go but Mr. Denton was a constant that won't be easily replaced. It is truly a sad time for all of vol nation. I'll take comfort in knowing the vols will have a new angel rooting for them against the likes of Florida, Alabama, Georgia. Rest in peace and go vols

A very sad day in Big Orange Country. I've been going to games at Neyland Stadium since 1971 and he's always been there. I will miss "pay these prices and please pay no more" , "...And a HOST of Volunteers!" & "It's Football Time in Tennessee!" What an Icon. We'll miss you, Bobby.
*"please pay no more" should be retired imo

Went to the season opener of the Smokies game tonight. We had a moment oF silence for the memory of Bobby which was cool. Then in the spirit of Bobby the Mayor of Sevierville said "it's baseball time in Tennessee!!'
It was pretty cool.

He is the only other icon voice that sits remotely close to John Ward, imo. Glad I was able to make it to the candy game last Nov to hear him one last time.

That was a fumble, btw! Another Tennessee legend gone but he will never die.
