OMG this is just horrible!....I went to UT during Dyron's time here and We had some classes together...He was a genuinely nice guy and I remember the girls loved the guy....I am very sad to hear he has passed away...He was a great ball player and was a lot of fun to watch...R.I.P. Dyron

I was a student when he played. He was a lot of fun to watch - very athletic and always full of energy.
Hard to believe someone like him is gone at only 46.
RIP

One of my favorites from my childhood. Honestly, he's the first big star I can remember from becoming a fan as a kid.

He was before, but barely. The Wiz was just ahead of my time as a fan as well.

White was my very first childhood idol. I had a VCR tape of his 50+pt night and I bet I watched it 500 times as a kid.

They used to do the late night replays on the tube with wards radio as the announcing

sorry to break up a condolence thread, but good grief.

It is OK to tell how we remember him most. He was an exciting vol, and John Ward obviously tremendously enjoyed watching him play. It is good to remember the excitement he brought into our lives. I think that anyone that loved him would be glad to know that he brought joy to our lives.

Can't agree more.

He clearly made a lasting impression on many of us and I am sure the family would feel great satisfaction in knowing that

I lived for them! There were awesome.

In some ways TV for nearly every game has made things less personal to me. Listening on the radio for almost every game made things more personal IMO.

I know many will think I am a nerd when I say this but I would keep stats while listening to ward as a 10-15yr old kid. Now days we have more info they we can handle and it takes the personal feeling away from the sport for me

I can relate, always kept stats, points, free throws...from watching my grandpa. I would then re-enact the play on my nerf hoop!
