i remember his freshman year, just after I graduated. sad day for the nix family, praying for them.

He was one of the best players in UT history, he had awesome moves on the baseline, and really knew how to take the ball to the hoop!

Did he have any association with the program in recent years? Seems like we brought back a lot of old guys, but don't recall Dyron coming back in

Man, hate to hear this. He passed me with my girlfriend a few times on the way to class and he would always say, "what's up little mama?" It was just funny and he was cool enough to pull it off.

Don DeVoe always thought very highly of him....and DeVoe don't hyperbolic like most coaches...

So sad - such a short life.

I remember him as the first player who I thought stayed 1 year too long in college. IIRC, he had an outstanding junior season and was projected as a top 10 draft pick. Came back for his senior season and was still good but not as outstanding as his junior year and his draft stock fell. Would have been given a longer shot to make it in the NBA if he had been a top 10 pick.
