Isn’t this the actual problem?

You don’t like Wal Mart then shop at Target or Publix and get the same box of Frosted Flakes.

The reason Trump didn’t just jump to Parler for his personal account is everyone he wants is on Twitter. Spreading his venom pass his supporters to liberals and soft Republicans.

The problem there is other people/world leaders spreading venom 1,000,000 times worse and their tweets are still up and they are still on the platform.

Downloaded my data last week. Just deleted the app from my phone. Had built a pretty good news and politics feed list that I am going to struggle to replace. All that's left is to delete my account. Maybe the politics forum can fill some of the gaps?

With Donald Trump out of office, and removed from Twitter for good, he has lost his omnipresence. You can already tell a difference. Outside of his upcoming Senate Trial, Trump's relevancy is fading fast. I don't think it's going to be easy for Trump to maintain his popularity from Florida. Unless Trump wants to do regular interviews on Fox News (whom he has been feuding with recently), he will have to find a new medium quickly.

Giustra said "I hope this lawsuit will help raise public awareness of the real harm to society if social media platforms are not held responsible for the content posted and published on their sites. I believe that words do matter, and recent events have demonstrated that hate speech can incite violence with deadly consequences."

Why is he not suing the people who created the tweets? Did Twitter make false claims about him? Did they edit the tweets to slander the guy?

And? They are not a publisher. They are a platform with moderation....just like volnation.

You guys are decrying the censorship of right wing extremists on one hand, and applauding the fact that they are getting sued for not censoring right wing extremists enough.

You want it both ways.

They are acting like a publisher. During the ACB stuff some blue check (not worth mentioning the racists' name) posted "Some White colonizers "adopted" Black children. They "civilized" these "savage" children in the "superior" ways of White people, while using them as props in their lifelong pictures of denial, while cutting the biological parents of these children out of the picture of humanity." in reference to her family. I responded in his comments that he was a race baiting piece of ****, and I got locked out of my account until I agreed to delete it. No extremism in calling a spade a spade IMO.

I want consistency. Either they are a publisher and are responsible for their content across the board, or they aren't and should allow free speech. They want it both ways. Not me.
