Isn't that the same as google ad services? When you search for items or services people that pay google show up at the top

Sort of. It's the same in the sense that it's paying for visibility, but the way it works is completely different.

There are organic and paid listings in Google search, and there is an indication on each ad result that it is an ad so that users can see that. You have lots of control over how much you bid for each search term, and you can spend $10/month or $10,000/day, and there is transparency and detailed reporting.

Sometimes my pro experience comes in handy here. Tooting my own horn, I manage $50k/month in Google Ad spend for my company, and I'm bringing in $750k - $900k in revenue off that spend.

Nothing's going to change. People have their minds made up before they even see a fact check. "Fact" checking isn't free.

Ain't that what Facebook is doing already? You have to pay to advertise. I will answer that. Yes, that's what Facebook is doing. Shadowbanning small business advertisement or any advertisement if you don't pay. They have an algorithm that does it.

People don't usually search for ads. I don't know if ads come up with the search results. I only use FB on the desktop with an adblocker running.

I don't even think it has to be ads. The Mrs will do a regular post promoting something about her small business and she knows the post doesn't get seen by folks on her friends list. Others have discussed this same thing. So it's just your regular post.
