You’re wrong
This is clearly musk hypocrisy
Or huff is a partisan hack.
I think it’s the hack option
Stfu
That's not how it went down at all.
You're here to nay say and it barely has anything to do with it being a good or bad business deal.
I've been saying all along that the left's attempts to control social media conversations backfire on them and might be doing more harm than good for their causes. Well, in the case of Twitter I can 100% say that is true. They went so far that they inspired Musk to buy it and attempt to fix the problem.
Jesucristo
It doesn't make sense. Biden is a clown. Trump is a clown. Musk is one of the most impressive people on the planet.
OK, but is that what happened?
I am neutral and though I didn't delete my account, I did delete it off my phone and never used it because I thought they were going too far. It's back on my phone now. I've also heard people say they are joining for the first time. I find it hard to believe that most liberals with a twitter account will delete it, unless it does play out the way they fear. Don't get caught up in all the loud people doing a Jerry Maguire exit right now. They're not representative of the people.
Ehhhh. Trump is jealous that Musk is way richer than him and can just buy Twitter instead of failing at tech startups.
Is it illegal in Tennessee to put Elon Musk in your Twitter.com bio? It's actually a crime in most or all states, sometimes punishable by severe penalties. I've been reading up on online impersonation/ defamation, and in many cases, it is deemed as a crime against personal character, similar to libel or slander.
This isn't an actual "free speech" issue because there's not government action. Is pretending to be someone else to produce misinformation “free speech”?
Living in a bubble with your yes-men.
Oh yes, he’s mad.@Orangeslice13 do you hear that rustling sound? Sounds like some jimmies are in full rustle
Lol^^^^This isn't an actual "free speech" issue because there's not government action.
It's about Musk going on and on for months about cancel culture, "the bird is free," etc. Then as soon as people start ridiculing him on the platform, he suspends them.
If you don't see that he's just winging it as he goes along, you're not looking very closely.
Is the recent brouhaha re Twitter because Musk wants parody accounts to identify as such?
If so, here's my opinion as a non Twitter user:
Once the blue check for verification became SOP, then extra measures beyond the name of the account became the de facto rule on Twitter. Therefore, I don't see how it is wrong (or harmful) to enforce parody account identification. We all would hope the user could discern parody based on context, but some accounts exist only as fakes (see FF today as example). To me, twitter is similar to a newspaper and in that sense, the newspaper has sections for opinion, satire, and parody. Twitter should, too. And the coup de grace is, Twitter is a private company and is allowed to make decisions based on the owner(s) wishes.
Since we've hit on concepts, I'd like to remind that the government doesn't "allow" free speech. The concept is the government cannot prohibit free speech...especially speech related to government or its agents. And yet, there are instances where it is prohibited or at least consequential.Free speech is broader a concept than what the government allows.
