Meh, this is hardly news. Musk has flirted with SEC investigation repeatedly, especially pretty obvious stock price manipulation.

The man is clearly very intelligent and creative, but he has a bad habit of not thinking through some of his more outlandish statements.

Has the SEC charged him with stock price manipulation? Or is this another case of you conflating legal actions (using tax laws to reduce taxes) with criminal activity (tax evasion).

And someone with SEC just HAPPENED to roll out of bed this morning and randomly decide „I really should give my old pal Fox News a call and shoot the breeze about what we’ve been up to lately 😂😂😂

So you know who leaked it and why?

LOL - another guilty until proven innocent claim.

His previous skirmish with the SEC was about his tweets - they didn't charge him for manipulation then and ruled his Tesla tweets needed company approval. That case is essentially closed other then Musk challenging his tweet restrictions.

You are making stuff up or don't understand the charge of stock manipulation or both.

Do you not see this s an obvious „brush back pitch“ to make Elon think twice before proceeding with Operation Twitter? „Nice car company you got there Mr Musk. Be a real SHAME if something happened to it“
It may be but I think Musk is both crazy and ballsy enough to take the fight to them.

Sorry to just now getting into this thread today. A few pages back it was being discussed on if Eon is Liberal or Conservative? I'm not sure but he was a Trump supporter and likely because of that he has had problems with this administration since it came into office. Just weeks after Biden coming into Office Biden's FAA has been a thorn in the side of SpaceX. The FAA has restricted their flight testing for the new Starship space vehicle that has been waiting FAA approval for its first orbital test flight from the SpaceX facility in Boca Chica, TX.

When was he a trump supporter? In 2016 he said that he didn’t believe that Trump was fit for office and he endorsed Andrew Yang in 2020.

Indeed. I believe it is a two part game going on. Biden is punishing Elon for actually being an independent thinker and it is also to provide a boost to Boeing and other well connected defense contractors who keep being embarrassed by SpaceX and who would soon be out of business if they had to actually compete unassisted. Republicans need to write FAA out of the Spaceflight regulation business once they retake Congress.

Twitter board is considering issuing 'poison pill' to stop Musk buying more shares and taking control - as he says his bid to buy firm is not about money but 'the future of civilization' during live TED talk

Twitter's board of directors is reportedly considering a plan to block Elon Musk's $41 billion hostile takeover -- but the billionaire says that he has a 'Plan B' if his initial offer to take the company private fails.

The board, meeting on Thursday afternoon, is considering combatting the takeover bid with a so-called 'poison pill' provision that would prevent Musk from increasing his stake in Twitter, a source told the Wall Street Journal.

Also known as shareholder rights plans, poison pills typically trigger an automatic stock dilution through a flood of new shares if a corporate raider's ownership stake grows too large. In Twitter's case, the idea would be to prevent Musk from increasing his 9.2 percent stake in order to pressure the board to accept his deal.
