RIP Twitter

Yall agreed when Twittrr was censuring speech when you agree with it...oh it's private business they have that right..now the shoes on the other foot and yall crying...to funny...for the record I dont thin any speech should be censored..we should be allowed to say what we want but also have the expectations of consequences of society should someone disagree
Elon's entire PR campaign was "restoring free speech" and the right briefly worshipped him for it before realizing what a clown he is. Now he's acting like you can't say "cisgender" or "decolonization" without getting in trouble lol

Yea..you can be a free speech absolutist but understand that free speech in a business setting isnt a good idea...that's common sense and seems more like what he is doing. His speech during interviews, he says what he wants and doesnt censor..

Twitter is a business that he was about to buy; if he agreed the whole time with "censorship" by Twitter in a business setting, then his whole free speech PR campaign about it was BS. And no there is nothing common sense about trying to ban the words "cisgender" and "decolonization" lol, it was only a matter of time before both sides thought he was an idiot

If it's my platform then I can decide if you can post what you want. My right as the owner of said platform

I'm not crying. I'm making fun of the right. I have not changed my position. Twitter necessarily censors speech and it was ridiculous when y'all were demanding free speech and it's hypocritical now that you're not.

All of a sudden? Should we search the term 'hypocrite' on VN and see if it's all of a sudden?

I can't fathom thinking I should come to a hypocrite's defense based on the belief that the criticism is being leveled "all of a sudden."

Your on this like he owe you money or wronged you personally...Elon is going to do what he wants...whether anyone think he is a hypocrite is a joke. The man has made greater contributions to society then most..who GAS about twitter but weak minded dem trolls

Not just saying he is allowed to change his mind...and personal views and differ from business views..

Bro, it's not just Musk. Right-wingers here on VN were ready to ruin the internet and eliminate a completely necessary law (section 213) because they were so outraged about censorship. Now you say Musk is allowed to change his mind? Cool. IDGAF. He's not gonna read this. This is for people who will read it. Of course he's allowed to change his mind. But I'm here to remind all you (not necessarily you, I don't know where you've stood on all of this) busybodies who are anti-business and turn on laissez Faire principles at the drop of a hat when it suits you, that people don't forget when you had terrible partisan ideas. Change up. I'll get you next time, too.

you mean 230, the publisher protection...i believe that if you censor then you shouldn't be protected and be held liable..if you dont then it a tool like telephone and your not liable..that is how most on the right that I have spoken with feel

I get it. It's completely unreasonable. Volnation censors us. They still aren't responsible for what I say and it is absolute insanity to think otherwise.

There is nothing hypocritical about Musk trying to protect his company from assault by Media Matters. It looks like MM is getting a lawsuit for them to review on Monday.

100% he did and I'm sure this won't change your mind anyway, and even if he hadn't, he's still a huge fkn hypocrite about speech either way, so what would this wrong point even mean if you were right about it? Nothing

That’s fine, I hadn’t seen that tweet. In other interviews he’s stated he believes the current US law was a reasonable standard for free speech.

It is cute to see how worked up you get here. Odd I’ve never seen this passion from you regarding censorship on any other platform
