RIP Twitter

Specifically, in regards to Elon Musk and his posts to the social media platform, formerly known as "Twitter", this was what I was referring to :

Elon Musk tried to exploit the cardiac arrest of LeBron James's son for political purposes, because that's just the sort of petty individual that he is. As if he was a health care professional, who had examined Bronny James, Musk offered a diagnosis that Bronny James' cardiac arrest had been induced by a COVID vaccination. LeBron has since gone on the record saying that Bronny was never vaccinated for COVID, and does not have myocarditis.

When LeBron's comment came to light in a fact check posted to Twitter, which was also accompanied by analysis from a physician .... it was, of course, immediately deleted.

Kiddiedoc made a fool of himself publicly over Bronny too, probably part of why he loves Elon enough to keep posting here when I doubt he has a Twitter

In so many ways .... you are an unprofessional, politically-driven, quack. I am grateful that my 2 kids were never under your care.
The beauty of health care is that if you don’t like your doctor’s opinion, you can find another. The nonsense that was spouted by some doctors testifying on behalf of the Knox county parents to force kids into masks was alarming, because it was clear they were misrepresenting data to get the results they wanted. It was about pushing an agenda, not about science.

And I fought for the children, including leading the charge from the top of our area's Pediatric experts, which eventually helped overturn the ridiculous mandates. In the end and despite attacks from hateful people (exemplified by some people in this thread), my practice has flourished, including an influx of patients moving from out of state or away from Knox area practices that refused to accept the wishes of concerned parents.

Twitter has run its course, anyway. So, this isn't completely attributable to it's acquisition by Elon Musk. However, it does underscore what a bad investment this was for Musk, and how his efforts at re-branding have not worked. It's probably also fair to say that Musk's conspiracy theorist posts, have turned some long time members away from the social media platform..

Fidelity, who is a stakeholder in ex-Twitter, values the company at just $12.5B now.

In before emotionally invested weirdos jump in with "Tesla turns a profit" in a thread that has nothing to do with that company.

Because of the Twitter advertiser exodus, my CEO thinks it's worth trying our hand there thinking we can get cheaper clicks.

Let's just say setting up campaigns has not been very easy. I'll probably eventually figure out most of this stuff, but the UX has been terrible. Can't add an email list. Can't even create ads until we figure out the right account to log in with. Only one account has permission for that. They give us no insight into which email that might be tied to, and they rejected my support ticket. Please make it easier for me to give you $.

That happens when you clear out bots.

How would fixing this problem make its valuation drop 75%, or whatever it is?

Bots made up 5% of Twitter according to an independent audit and their removal (if that even happened) can't possibly explain anything that you are trying to attribute to them, but nice try.
