RIP Twitter

I guess low T males would find it offensive.

Who said it was offensive? I just implied it was unappealing to moderates.

The truth of what I personally think about it is that it looks completely ridiculous on the surface, and that's all we got because its an idea so thin it doesn't even qualify as an "observation." It's just a baseless hot take that appeals to morons who consider themselves to be alphas.

And these same morons post bs tweets and fake news all the time

Next level? If this forum has shown anything it's that those consuming the most on X are the least informed. We now want it streaming to every couch to truly dumb down everyone? Freaking idiocracy

What revolutionary idea to put things on a bigger screen. How does he come up with this stuff.

I don't even understand why you need twitter on your TV? Facebook is on my TV, too. I don't use it. Videos work just fine on a 6" screen and nobody in my family wants my twitter on the TV.

Whatever people think of his politics; Musk is one of those rare individuals in history who doesn’t let his imagination be curtailed by the doubters.
When people say; “that will never work”, Musk asks “how can we make this work?”

No way can he put Twitter on a bigger screen. This ain't gonna work.

FTR, what did people tell him would never work and then he made it happen? He's done a lot but it's not like he's the first person to make a satellite, launch a rocket, or make an EV. All of this was already done by humans. The new ideas, like the tunnels and trips to mars don't come to fruition

Musk:
Invents PayPal
Finally makes a practical electric car
Becomes the first private company to put a rocket into irbit
Becomes the first (and pretty much only) company to land and reuse orbital booosters.
Becomes the first private company to put people into orbit
Builds the first workable satellite internet network
Develops, builds and flies the largest rocket in history (which will be FULLY reusable)
And coming in the near future; direct Starliner to cell phone internet (and the end forever of no cell coverage)

Sounds like someone who doesn’t have any problem with coming up with “revolutionary stuff” to me 🤔

I agree society has been reduced to a tweet, post, etc.

It got me to thinking about this as a result of the Georgia school shooting yesterday. The usual suspects are taking the usual positions. What gets lost is this kid was making threats online a year ago. How much of this increase in school shootings have to do with a world where everything is online and there are less real life interactions.

Now back to Musk.

1. His EV charging stations are considered industry leading and is being studied by competitors.

2. If you are going to have a social media company, then free speech should be an important pillar. He has exposed the federal government actions to censor speech they don't like - more specifically the progressive left government bureaucracy and Biden Administration. That is important work.

Saying he invented paypal is pretty generous*, and got kicked out bc his ideas were so bad...but also it was just a payment processor. Who told him this couldn't be done?

First "practical" electric car? Lol. I can't get thru your list, bro

I can easily admit (like I already did) that he has impressive accomplishments. You made it sound like he does the impossible.

*he is a co-founder who merged with a company that was already specializing in online payments, but nice try

The stations with ultra short charging cables? Plenty of others that work just as well without having to own a tesla

Musk is not a free speech advocate based on actions. He's just for his speech being free which is not much different

Are you REALLY that uninformed about space technology? Seriously Clark?
Pretty much every other aerospace company and expert in the world said that reusable rockets were only a dream and would either never work or never be conomical.
The biggest proof is that no one else outside of Electron has even TRIED to do this.
And as a result, SpaceX has the lowest launch costs and fastest cadence in the world.
In a single year, SpaceX launches more rockets themselves that the rest of the world COMBINED.
And SpaceX remains the ONLY American company currently capable of safely taking people into and back from Space.
Who exactly is bringing Boeing’s astronauts home? Hint: it ain’t Boeing

I have been watching space flight sine the Apollo days; and at least in terms of Space technology, he pretty much does do the impossible.
The company lands orbital rockets on a moving barge not much bigger than a tennis court bobbing up and down in the middle of the ocean. No other company is within years of even being ready to attempt that.

Hahaha, what? Like this is something people are supposed to know and care about so much so that I get a "seriously, Clark" (which is the wrong line). You probably just googled this.

Yeah, I didn't know, which is why I asked a genuine question. Congrats. You came up with one thing he's done that apparently people doubted.

It's not an important pillar at Musk's Twitter. How are people still saying stuff like this?

It's the function of the charging cables and the quicker charging about. It's not whether you mad because they need to extend the cable to your liking.

How are you saying stuff like this?

Because Twitter censors speech. There is still tons of moderation. Nothing changed, except maybe what gets censored (for example the word "cisgender" which is a proper term and not a pejorative). It's not just the lefties getting new buzzword bans, so don't get too excited about that. As Nash just pointed out, mysoginists like Andrew Tate are getting censored.

I get charged about as fast at chargers made for multiple vehicles. He should study his competition for that feature. I charge at home but occasionally will use a Tesla charger just to upset the tesla drivers. They're sensitive

When did cisgender become created??? And when was it added to the dictionary??

And then doesn’t. He’s been obsessed with the idea of a do-everything (including banking) site/app called X for decades, keeps trying to force Twitter into being that and keeps making Twitter worse as a result
