I'm interested to see what South Florida does against Alabama next week. I think Alex Golesh would be a good hire for them. I definitely think Golesh is on the verge of becoming a "name."

They are 25-8 against us since 1990, bud.

They’ve beaten us when we were a powerhouse, middling, and absolutely terrible. Peyton freaking Manning couldn’t even beat UF.

Unfortunately, they have our number. I would sure love nothing more than for Heupel to break us out of that, but so far he lost to their subpar 2023 squad and almost let them come back and beat us in Neyland in ‘22 (‘21 he had inferior talent, so I won’t count it).

On paper, we should demolish them, but I guarantee you it will be a slugfest. I’ll gladly eat crow if it’s a blowout.

Agree. With what few wins we have against them, we also haven’t blown Florida out in almost 25 years. They have blown us out plenty though. I’ll take a win by a point against them all day every day, beggars can’t be choosers lol

I counter with: remember Austin Peay last year? We only won 30-13, gained fewer than 500 yards, and gave up 350ish. Florida may not be worse than last year, but they certainly don’t look much better. If yesterday is any indication, though, our Vols are far ahead of where they were at this point in ‘23.

Why counter? It seems like we're saying the same thing. I do remember the Austin Peay game. There is plenty of possible variation in any team's performance each week. We will see.

I’m saying that we should still feel very good about our matchup with the Gatas despite the fact that they were also trash last year and beat us, so I think we are saying different things.

I bet some of you are watching this and thinking, “there is no way UF beats us this year.”

Florida needs to make the change at QB, not because Lakeway is better than Mertz right now nut because the need to find a boost. Both sides of their lines look suspect.

Miami probably really is good this year.

You're right though, it's easy to want to jump ahead and say we should win going away but it's not been the case in recent years though we've been favored more lately.

I do think Nico is deadly accurate, smart and very athletic. Something Cam Smith has that created big problems. Our OL and DL are physical.
