Over half of those were bumped up to a 4*... GTFO. Your act is getting old..

If he had committed to Florida and been bumped to a 4 star today, everyone here would be *****ing about how biased Rivals is towards UF.

At least they have a reason for Tom Smith and Kerbyson.

I see no justification to Randolph not being a 4 star...and a high one at that.

Whatev' he can take it out when he is wearing the orange and white!

Well in case you forgot where you are posting, this is a vol site. LOL. Of course we as fans are going to biased for our team. Randolph got snubbed. Doesn't matter where he was going...

It is a known fact that Rivals and ESPN both hate Tennessee. This will be the case for a long time... everyone thinks ESPN hates their team though, with the exception of Bama, USC, Texas, and Florida (modern day champions).

Add Notre Dame and Boise State to that list.

Rivals has us at #24 right now, if we sign our max, which we should we will more than likely be top 15, maybe a spot or two better. IMO, thats pretty good, seeing where our program is and has been the past few years.

Man I hate Notre Dame. Boise is alright in my book, it is just there whiny fans that annoy me. Although I kind of see where they are coming from.

IMO Boise and their fans have a right to *****! I know they are a WAC school but they arent just barely beating teams, they are destroying these weak WAC teams like power conference schools do. I think they could beat any team in the country right now! That said, who cares about Boise or anyone else, GBO!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not far fetched to say Rivals is screwing us this cycle. As was mentioned a few weeks back, Farrell wrote the piece on the most dissappointing classes thus far in the recruiting cycle and we were #2. This "dissappoint" was based on star power, which is what Rivals' operation is predicated on. If they were to suddenly bump our guys up, and some deservedly so, then that would render his whole article and analysis false or at the least poorly researched. There's no way they can have their lead national analyst (a joke in itself) out there looking like he doesn't know what he's talking about, even if he doesn't. A team with 5-6 4* and 10 spots still to go would definitely not be considered a dissappointment and they know this. If those guys get bumped up Rivals' operation loses credibility.

So, instead they find little things to knit-pick on, like Smith not having break away speed while he rushes for 300 yards with one of their analyst in the stands. And everyone else watches him pull away from FL 6-A competition.

Only 9 people got moved in...Half the people on here expected three or four of your commits to get moved in. Happens every year and every time the rankings come out... and since Rivals dont move them in they hate a certain school :post-4-1090547912:

Actually we only expected Smith and Randolph... but it also happens every year where a Rivals guy says something on a message board and then looks like a buffoon (see you in regards to AJ Johnson).

Of course we're gonna have some bias. This is a Tennessee board. But Randolph stacks up to nearly everyone in the 250 in terms of DB. Heck he's top five player in Georgia according the AJC. Look at the lists the AJC has put out over the last couple years and tell me how many players rated that high by the AJC were not at least 4 stars on rivals. Smith is eating up the best competition high school football offers in 6A Florida football. I don't get how those two are not moved up.

People can make cases for Kerbyson, Williams, & Worley all being bumped to a 4 but Randolph & Smith not getting the bump is mind blowing. Randolph was named a top 5 player in the state of GA by the AJC, he is killing the competition & he was named the hardest hitter in the state. Smith has done nothing but rack up over 500 yards rushing in his past 3 games which one of those were in front of a Rivals anaylst & all he can say is Smith doesnt have top end speed thats why he isnt a 4.

This is not a difficult concept to grasp. The Rivals and Scout guys are evaluating a player's talent not simply looking at stats.

I know Florida just offered Smith because of stats, right? You will not find many more talented players than Smith and Randolph at their position.

Randolph hasn't been re-evaluated yet, no one saw him in person this time around nor did we get senior film so we will hopefully do one or both between now and the last ranking

I tell you something about people not liking UT. I could have swore those commentators during the Mich. St. basketball game were all for the Spartans. I felt like CBS was against me while I was watching the game. that was sickening.

Mike Farrell: Ryan -- stats are nice but he's got some work to do, he's very thin, not very strong, more of a system quarterback who is all arm right now who needs some serious mechanics work and he's not overly athletic which is why he's still a 3

Why isn't Randolph a 4 star?

Haven't seen him this year or his senior film.

Why isn't Smith a 4 star?
He doesn't have great top speed but has great size and is great against great competition and is already physically ready for SEC.

Why isn't Jordan Williams a 4 star?
Haven't seen him lately.

And people want to wonder why we trust our coaches more?
