How's that his fault if they, (Randolph or anybody) send any film?

Or maybe just maybe... they should go to one of the most talent rich states and watch a game of one of the most dominant defensive players in GA.

I totally agree with this, it doesn't bother me one bit because we obviously have some underrated players in this class. However, it is annoying when you have pre-madonnas like SGM patrolling the board.

Were you the Valid Victorian of your class?

It's best our commits stay as 3 stars. If they were moved up to 4 stars, we could lose them to another school.

Close, decided to go with the urban dictionary definition. Pre-Madonna: It is a play on words that uses "Madonna", the name of a pop-music star who is a prima donna of the highest order. Pre-madonnas cannot help the way they are because their parents spoiled them and they are still developing their personalities. Thought it was more fitting in this case, and if I'm not mistaken you had it under your username at some point...don't act so surprised that I used that word.

I know. Not like there are thousands of football recruits out there.

If their job is to go and scout and evaluate talent, that means that they should be out scouting and evaluating talent, not waiting for all of it to come to them.

If a kid is considered by multiple sources to be an extremely good football player and their personnel don't even watch his video, much less go to a game, then I'd say there is a serious problem with the quality of evaluation and scouting being done. Thus they, as a scouting and evaluation information resource business, are not doing their job.

Given this, your post is dumb. Stop trying to defend them.

Smith will be Smith, whether he ends up a 2*, 3* or 4*. Worley will be Worley, Randolph will be Randolph. They will be Volunteers either way and Dooley and Company will make the most of it. Way too much emphasis on Rivals, etc in my opinion. This class is strong and just as important, appears to have stability and staying power...true value will show in the years to come (as with all classes). We've learned from CPF's classes there is a large margin of error with the stars. Distressing over who gets bumped up or down one is wasted energy for my life. It is what it is.

This is Dooley’s 1st true recruiting class and recruits have great things to say about our group of coaches. I've got a good feeling Dooley knows what our needs are and what great character, effort, heart, and talent looks like. He’s been around a lot of it over the years. Reel um in and GBO!

How so? They have to evaluate thousands of kids. They have already scouted Randolph. It's not like they have 200 people going out and scouting people across the country. They have other players they have to see. Their best way to evaluate everyone is watching film. Randolph hasn't sent any film, and Randolph doesn't have too. But how they going to evaluate him whne there are hundreds of kids they need to go see?

Didn't see you or anyone else complaining about Rivals when over half of our class were 4 stars this time last year.

Do you ever do anything else but b*tch on here about others. It gets old. And change your damn pic for the 1,934,328th time.

If they haven't evaluated him, then their "evaluations" are irrelevent. They don't market "These stars are based on the players ability to get evaluated", they market "sports information", meaning it is their responsibility to get the information. If they can't get pertinent relevent information, then what exactly do they exist for?

I will say that we have a lot of bias on this board and tend to expect all our commits to be 5 stars, but how Randolph is not at least a 4 star, much less a top 250 player really makes no sense at all. Like, zero.

Well, ESPN and other recruiting analysts also put him as a 3* prospect, so it's not just Rivals that sees it that way. His offer sheet includes in-state Georgia, but other regional programs with a prior history of identifying DB talent (Florida, Alabama, Clemson, Auburn, Florida State) all passed. Athletically, the criticism is he's a bit undersized (at a listed 180 on Rivals) to be an elite-caliber safety. So, not sure we can say it makes "no sense" that some don't project him as an elite-caliber player.

Ok, so outside of the Rivals250, ie, within position rankings or whatever, where if at all, did some of our guys move?? Exs:

-Tom Smith
-Brian Randolph (I know he didn't get the 4th*, but did he move up, or stay same position rank-wise)
-Posey
-Kerbyson
-Is it just me, or did our big DT Carson have a 3* before? Why's he 2*?
-Worley (even though no 4th*)

Et al, please include other players of interest if you have the facts!

Thanks for your input. It's easy to find out what they are now, but I can't find any places where it says what previous ranks were.

I'll go one more & say that I bet a lot of these guys, who may not have cushy upbringings, who truly want to make something of themselves, get pretty flattered & psyched when they get recruited for their character, as opposed to just football talent. They've been dying for someone to either see their character, bring it out of them, or help to instill it/more of it within them.

Hate to play psychologist, but I majored in it, & I bet this is true.

-Tom Smith moved up to the 27th best RB in the country, he is now a 5.7 3*

-Brian Randolph did not move up, Rivals has not evaluated his Senior film yet.

-Posey moved down a few spots but is still a 3*

-Kerbyson stayed the same.

-Carson was a 3* but he got dropped to a 2*, Rivals said that they are not impressed with him at all

-Worley has been moved up to the 30th best Pro-Style QB & a 5.6 3*
