Apologies just saw where Farrell said no one reevaluated him. You would think with the hype surrounding the guy they would get someone on that though.

excuses. I don't care that much about stars, or analysts or any of that noise. But seriously, if you tell people "we're going to sell you this great product, that you're going to love" then you can't serve up sub-standard BS and expect people to eat it up.

"no one evaluated him" - What does rivals spend their time and money doing? top 20 player in the state of Georgia no? maybe you should evaluate him.

"no top end speed" - so speed is the difference between stars...got it.

"we don't look at offers" - or apparently stats, coaches comments, or football games for that matter.

Please come with some real analysis or just stop talking and continue counting your money...earned on the backs of kids btw. I'm not sayin...I'm just sayin.

I have no problem with the rankings. I don't care.

I like everyone that UT has a verbal from. I judge them on the field. And I expect this class to stay together and to excel on the field. Solid class.

Does anyone know why Gabe Wright dropped? And I saw Countess jumped huge - are we still in on him?

Yeah i said he's a 4* in my book...I also said that when they get his Senior film he will be a 4*.

No on Countess...its GT, Michigan and Maryland. Prob Michigan bound if they offer. He's ranked way too high IMO.

I agree. A rivals ranking means nothing in the big scheme of things. This is a solid class, and will be a successful one.

For the most part, I have no qualms about this list. I'm not one to say that "stars matter" or "Rivals is a joke" or all of that jazz, but the only flaw I'm seeing with that list is Brian Randolph not being added. Guy is incredible.

I also think that Justin Worley not being added to the list is a good move. As much as I love the kid and how he plays, I don't think he's Rivals250 material. Touchdowns don't make a quarterback good; the many ways you score them do.

It's even harder to believe when you see Farrell's explanation for it...they just haven't seen senior film or gone to see him play yet...

Uh....isn't that your job Farrell? It's not like this kid isn't one of the most tlkaed about DB's in the talent rich state of Goergia

We haven't re-evaluated Randolph...we haven't seen him in person or on film since his first evaluation...hopefully we can do one or both by the next update

I don't really care a whole lot about the stars. As long as these players are willing to come here and work hard to show their talent on the field as opposed to some star ranking system by a bunch of "analysts"

Because most kids actually care about star rankings and things so they keep making film and sending them out...example Avery Walls. Randolph doesn't care.

I'm not much of a star gazer myself but I prefer UT to win recruiting battles over highly sought after prospects. Its not so much where they rank now, its where they'll rank after 4-5 years.

That being said...does Rivals or Scout--or anyone for that matter--ever revise recruiting rankings 4-5yrs after the fact? That would be interesting to see, especially considering the '07 class...

Like I said before, best thing to do as fans is look back at this in two years and then decide from ACTIONS on the field how good this class is, and to hell with recruiting services, they're not coaches.

...and I hope this pisses some guys off, like Randolph and Smith, to where that chip on their proverbial shoulders causes massive snot bubbles to shoot out of Gator noses over the next couple years as they aim to prove they were under-rated. That's how motivation works sometime, and I hope some position coaches remind them from time to time!

I totally agree with this, it doesn't bother me one bit because we obviously have some underrated players in this class. However, it is annoying when you have pre-madonnas like SGM patrolling the board.
