Rivals has been updated

I dont know why anyone ever thought a bunch, if any would jump. The only one that had a realistic shot at jumping was Kerbyson.

There are way more 3*'s out there who blew up a lot more this summer than any of the Tennessee commits, except for maybe Kerbyson.

I think those on here who follow recruiting closely realize Kerbyson is the only current commit likely to get bumped in these new ratings...

I think the same people believe Smith will eventually get the bump because a couple of Rivals analysts have mentioned it is likely if he has another season like last year...

I personally believe Coleman will get the bump eventually because his current state and overall ranking as a CB point to it...and from what I read he was a standout for his position at our camp and the UGA camp

IMO...those are the only current commits that will at some point get the bump to 4*...I do think we will evntually land Dallas and Johnson who are both players I expect to get the 4* bump eventually...

I think Johnson won't get that bump in this ranking and Dallas might but will probably get it later as well...

I do agree with you that anyone expecting the 4* bump for any of our other recruits...at least as far as Rivals is concerned...is fooling themselves

I still don't understand how rivals can update their list at this time of year, the kids aren't even playing games yet to show off their talents. Unless they are watching film from last year I would think Rivals would wait until the seasons start.

Its only August. The way things are looking now, i think we end up with a top 20 class at least. Top 15 or better isnt outta the question IMO. When high schools have reached their mid season, alot of these kids will move up a little bit. Even if they dont move to 4*, their over all rating will go up. These rating sites are like the three credit bureaus, two can look great and one can suck. I wouldnt put much stock in rivals or the others untill Oct-Nov.

Do the talent evaluators attend alot of college summer camps and reevaluate these kids through the summer? This would allow them to see how they do against better competition and would seem to be a good tool for college coaches to get kids to come to their camp by giving the kid an oppertunity to up their rating.

Spring and summer are a very important time for evaluation, updates and offers. Camp circuits give coaches and scouts the ability to eval and rank top talent in competition.

It would be sweet if we had 4 or 5 jump to a 4th star today

I personally think we will have a top 10 class this year,Dooley and his staff will land some big time prospects before NSD.

Summer camps are now over. That has more influence than high school games.

My question is when do the JUCO and Prep ratings come out, not so much for their use as talent indicators but considering I know nothing about Juco's it is very helpful

Guys...even if Kerbyson isn't in the 250 that doesn't mean that he won't get bumped this go around...

Prior to these new rankings there were roughly 265-270 current 4*'s...Kerbyson could fall in the range of those 4*'s just outside the 250

I'm just shocked that Johnson could get such a huge bump and Kerbyson not...Kerbyson had one of the most impressive performances at FNL...even more so than Johnson

Yes AJ got a bump. I'm a little surprised Kerbyson didn't. None of the other Tennessee commits ever had a chance of getting bumped.

Correct. There are always between 15-20 4*'s not in the 250. Who knows if he'll land somewhere in there.
