Road Uniforms?

We wore the orange on orange somewhere in between 99 - 04. I remember seeing it. I can't remember which game, but we had orange jerseys and orange pants.

It was a Memphis game in 1999 or 2000? Somewhere, but I remember it was Memphis because it was homecomming and the seniors chose them.

I remember it because UT needed a hail mary pass from Tee Martin to win the game. I like the way the orange on orange looks, but I just think they are bad luck.

I suppose that orange pants on the road would be nice. I agree that we should put more orange in the road uni's. The black trim on the numbers will probably stay, as the orange on white numbers were nearly impossible to read from the pressbox.

I really believe the reason Phillip nixed the orange pants is...HE CAN SEE...I think a much better idea is...instead of wearing orange pants...they should NOT wear orange pants...EVER!

Note: I do not condone the use of the black at all, I just modified them to see what it might look like. I love the Classic Tennessee look and thing they should stay that way.

If you all have any suggestions I can modify one to your liking.

Black = horrible.

I'd want them to change the team name to the Tennessee Jack-o-lanterns if they used that much black.

I like the current road uni's with the black outline on the numbers and black names however.

All I see are three white boxes with red X's in them. I'm definately against wearing white boxes with red X's in them.

We must always be careful of the orange and black as CPF sometimes can be mistaken for the great pumpkin in late October.:)

Don't be so quick to judge. Boxes with red X's look better than orange pants or any combination involving black.

Yeah, God forbid we modernize the uniforms or prominently display the primary school color. Our road uniforms look like something we bought at the Athletic House going out of business sale.

I could reply to that, but I've decided that threads about uniform design just aren't manly.

I am all for the road-pants being orange.....definitely.And I think all orange during big games would be nice to see occasionally, much like Georgia has done with the silver pants in the past.

I have to agree...white pants with red X's on them would definately look better than orange pants.

Forget "modernizing"...the top programs are always recognizable. Look back over time...when was the last time Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Texas, Ohio State, Notre Dame, USC, Penn State, Florida State, etc. changed their uniforms. Who changes uniforms all the time? Kentucky, Vandy, Miss. St., Duke, Maryland, NC State, etc. The only good program I can think of that changes all the time is Miami...and who the hell wants to be like Miami?

Everyone who dislikes the orange pants/white shirt combination, do you also dislike the orange jersey/white pants?

You talking about the same combination. How can orange jersey/white pants look good but white shirt/orange pants look bad? Its the exact same combination.
