Rob Lewis Says Lawrence Frank Would Be Interested in Talking To Tennessee

Claims to have heard that information tonight from some of his sources.

Would be a huge hire even if it is for the short-term. With the cloud over the program, we need someone that can at least stock pile us with talent, which is something Frank would do quickly with his connections.

He would bring instant credibility.

Agreed, and if he were to move onto the NBA again, then who really cares as long as he leaves the next coach with talent? I've never understood people that are scared of Frank because he might leave in a couple of years. We need a quick turnaround and someone who can tell Tobias and Scotty to stay for their own good (and trust me, Frank would get through to the them with his connections). And then he could close this class strong, and really have a good class the next year.

I would love to have him. He loves teaching kids so I don't see why the college level is so crazy for some to believe.

If Larry wasn't 70, I'd be all for it. But, if I had to choose between him and Frank, I'd take Frank.

Larry actually would give us more years more than likely. He seems a whole lot more interested in going to the college game and never returning to the NBA again. Frank on the other hand would bolt if a good NBA job came calling. Also, I think Larry would have us a top 5 class every year he was here.

Oh, trust me, if we announce Larry Brown as the head coach, I don't think I'll be complaining.

Could you imagine the recruiting classes he would bring in? More than likely, he would get the top one and done players every year because UT would become the place that you can play for a coach that best prepares you for the NBA. Just the thought of that, makes me giddy. That article mentioned Arkansas. If he would be willing to consider Arkansas then this could be a slam dunk. If he is willing, you have to make this move happen to get the excitement of the fan base.

If, and this is an incredibly hopeful if, Frank and Brown are in play, I think there is a legitimate discussion to be had on which guy we'd rather have. I wouldn't just jump at the Brown hire simply for the excitement factor.

NBA coaches have a much easier time getting the top recruits. Although Franks constant pattern of switching offenses scare me.

If you could get someone with the name recognition of Larry Brown it would definitely make season ticket renewals a lot easier to sell.
