Rob Lewis Says Lawrence Frank Would Be Interested in Talking To Tennessee

Only offenses i've seen or heard Frank running is Priceton Style and dribble drive. What else does he do? I kind of like the ideal and kind of don't. At least if you stick with one offense, you can tweak it and perfect it. Switching allows you to run plays to your players abilities.

wait , wouldnt Brown come with Bagage ? I mean if we want a cheater might as well keep Pearl.

He isn't in NCAA crosshairs so he's an instant upgrade. I would think a guy like Tim Floyd will have too much baggage but he's still coveted.

I like Frank first, Brown second. Frank has been on the Hill for 3 years and is younger. Some of these pro coaches would like to step back into the college game and stay since the compensation is more competitive now. We might have a good shot at keeping him longer term if he's successful. Brown would be great as well. He would be a shorter term program builder and elevate us another level as well. Both would be great for recruiting.

Remind me on something though. If Pearl gets the 'show cause' like UT suspects, how is it that he is going to be some fans' "coach" for a year or two? Just wondering.

IMO both would be home run hires. I know Larry Brown is interested in coaching college basketball, but is there any interest in Tennessee specifically?

It would do Hopson and Harris a lot of good to get some quality teaching from a Frank or Brown type coach before entering the draft.

You're telling me we didn't run an offense? Goins throwing up 3's before the shot clock went to 0, wasn't planned?

The constant screening and movement in our offense was something to behold. Getting players open for drives and dunks, as well as our inside post-up game was exciting to watch. No wonder we had no players who scored other than Hopson and Harris. They were the only ones who could go one-on-one. Any offense would be an improvement over what we had this season.

If he did chances are great that he wouldn't stay long.

That's my point. He's currently on one of the best franchises in the NBA. Taking any college job is probably a step back considering he has an opportunity to coach again at the elite level. If he's willing to pass that up now, then maybe he'll stay at Tennessee for a long time.

Ok let me say that I'm for Bruce because the NCAA is forcing our hand to fire him but is not doing the same with Ohio State and UConn and that ticks me off.
But, NCAA or not, Frank would be awesome!
I think we should go after Bobby Knight. That psycho would get TBA rolling!

An NBA coach doesn't excite you?
