RFK Jr. To Testify in House Hearing On Censorship

Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is set to testify in a congressional hearing next Thursday on the federal government’s role in censorship across the nation.

On its website, the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government noted Kennedy Jr. as one of three witnesses set to testify.

Other witnesses include Breitbart News journalist Emma-Jo Morris and the Louisiana Department of Justice Special Assistant Attorney General D. John Sauer.

The subcommittee’s hearing is set to focus on the federal government’s role in censoring U.S. residents, the Biden’s administration’s lawsuit against Missouri over the state’s gun rights bills and allegations of cooperation between major tech companies and government agencies to hinder free speech.

Trump calls RFK Jr. ‘a very smart person’

Former President Trump in a new interview praised Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as a “very smart person” as the Democratic presidential candidate has courted controversy with comments about vaccines and the war in Ukraine.

“He’s a very smart person. I know a lot of the members of that family, and he’s a very smart guy. And he’s hit a little bit of a nerve. And a lot of Democrats I know want to vote for him,” Trump said in an interview on “Sunday Morning Futures” broadcast on Fox News.

Trump, who has indicated he won’t participate in the Republican primary debate next month, also noted on Fox News that Kennedy Jr. likely won’t have a chance to debate President Biden.

“Number one, Biden can’t debate him because he’s not capable,” Trump said. “And number two, why would he debate him for that reason, but why would he debate him if he’s probably got [the nomination] locked up.”

Focus RFK Jr. will back the U.S. dollar with gold and Bitcoin if elected

“My plan would be to start very, very small; perhaps 1% of issued T-bills would be backed by hard currency, by gold, silver platinum or bitcoin,” he said, with an annual increase in the allocation depending on the outcome.

Kennedy said that his positions in favor of Bitcoin and against CBDC and fiat currency in general stem from the ideals of President John F. Kennedy.

“My uncle, President Kennedy, when he was in office, understood the importance of hard currency and the dangers of having pure fiat currency with no other option,” Kennedy said. “He understood the relationship between fiat currency and war, fiat currency and … very, very destructive environmental projects and also these giant aggregations of wealth and the unbalance, the disparities in wealth that are the ultimate yield of every fiat currency.”

After getting sued heavily for the DTP vaccine, Wyeth (now Pfizer) went to the Reagan White House and demanded liability protections with the threat of getting out of the vaccine business.

President Reagan asked Wyeth why they couldn’t make safer vaccines.

Wyeth answered that they couldn’t because vaccines are “unavoidably unsafe.”

And so, anybody who claims vaccines are safe and effective, the industry itself got immunity from liability by convincing President Reagan and Congress that vaccines are “unavoidably unsafe.”

I guaran-damn-tee you that Trump does not know a single Dem who wants to vote for RFK.

Censorship is antithetical to our party. It was appalling to my father, to my uncle, to FDR, to Harry Truman, to Thomas Jefferson ... It [free speech] is the basis for democracy. It sets us apart from all of the previous forms of government.

He continued. “We need to be able to talk. And the First Amendment was not written for easy speech. It was written for the speech that nobody likes you for.”

I laugh at Republicans who are trying to make a big deal about "free speech" and censorship these days. It's of course just an effort to counter efforts to block obvious and blatant conspiracy theories and disinformation from polluting the public discourse. And make no mistake: Promoting conspiracy theories are a big part of the GOP agenda these days: It's a major communication tactic that the party and right-wing media hacks use to play MAGA rubes--in in doing so to raise money, to gain cable viewers, to win votes, etc.

We've got right wing cockroaches who want to promote QAnon, and claim that the FBI organized the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol; who want to claim that school massacres didn't happen, and that voting machines were manipulated by somebody in Venezuela--all intentional lies, all aimed at just using nonsense to degrade the truth and make money and win votes from doing so. The gangster does it daily, as does just about all of the proles in the right-wing media firmament. It's beyond disgusting. That's not freedom of speech--that's perfidious dishonesty--and if it takes a bit of censorship to counter it, we should be all for it. Otherwise, we'll just let conservatives turn America into another Russia, a failed state that seems to appeal to them these days. They've apparently come to believe that fascism is the only way they can win elections.

it's ironic how much conspiracy theory and misinformation you put into this post then call for censorship against such.

kudos

You made some valid points in this rant until you called for censorship.

“We [America] are supposed to be the exemplary democracy, and the corner foundation stone of our system is freedom of speech. All of the other freedoms depend on it. If we lose that, not only do we lose our democracy in this country, but the entire world loses us as an example.”

“Exactly,” responded Jim Jordan. “I couldn’t have said it better.”
