Robert Hubbs SG TN '13

Does not mention Tennessee. Article is free.

It just mention top schools in terms of recent success. These are not schools that Robert mentioned. Believe me UT is a player. It appears that UK will be pretty soon too. He showed out at Chicago this weekend.

what article are you reading???

the most recent i found on volquest, is not a free read...

It was the most recent one I saw. Tennessee is not mentioned, but there are no quotes from Hubbs about any imparticular school. Just the writer's opinion of "big time" schools as orangelo stated. I wasn't implying that Tennessee was out of it either. Only that in the article, Tennessee was not mentioned.

Oh ok gotcha.

Latest Scout story (yesterday) had the line "I'm wide open, but I like Tennessee." Talked about how it was close to home and the in-state school. Moderately encouraging.

Encouraging.

I'm hoping and praying for a class of:

Newkirk
Crawford
Hubbs
Nichols
Agau/Rimmer

That would be AMAZING!

I agree that this would be a dream class. We'd be replacing Landry with Newkirk, but we'd also have to see someone on the current roster leave as well to pick up the 4th player. Many would probably speculate Reese moving along at the end of next year...If this were the case, we'd have to land them in the Spring. The hope is that one of them will be available then if we had a transfer.

You can add them early and just figure out the scholarship situation after the year, you don't have to have an available scholarship for them until they actually get here. So we could sign 5, and part way with someone after the season.

That's true, but it could lead to an interesting dynamic as far as chemistry and morale. If we were to sign 4-5 players in the Fall, we would have players knowing that they are on the chopping block after the season is over or even at mid-term. It could work both ways in that some players may play harder to keep their spot or become apathetic because they are being recruited over and the scholarship isn't being renewed. Regardless how it plays out, we have to trust CCM has a plan in mind. I'd still love to sign a combination of those players though.

You have a link for that? I was pretty sure you had to have a scholly available to sign a kid. I though that's why Moore gave his verbal this year but waited to sign until Washpun announced he was transfer.

I didn't mean sign I meant committ, my bad. We could get 5 committs, and worry about the scholarship after the season to make room for them to sign.

Then again, are teams with full roster not allowed to sign people? That'd seem a bit odd? So if you were say vandy, had 13 scholarship players but 6 graduating, you couldn't sign guys in the fall? Or is it you can sign as many as are graduating?

Yeah, you can sign the same number of guys to replace guys that are scheduled to be leaving for graduation. . I am not 100% certain about it really. More like 90%. I am pretty sure signing them first is what "over signing" is all about (giving scholarships you don't really have yet). I would bet that the 4 biggest recruits get the 4 scholarships they know will be freed up. The lowest guy would be a verbal and wait and see what Stokes does or, if he is good enough, wait for someone else to decide its in their best interest to look elsewhere, ala Washpun this year.

Really, we see how this works with UK every year now. No one really knows who is leaving (ie, both TJones and DLamb stayed last year) and pretty much Cal has to wait until the Spring to see how many he can sign. It also seems like guys won't verbal early until they know they have a spot available for them.

The only thing wrong with that is that it says "Robert Hubbs III (Dyer County H.S./ Memphis, Tenn)". You'd think that people would know that there is more to West Tennessee than just Memphis.
