This FIVE STAR McDonalds All-American has shown me absolutely NOTHING up to this point. That is very disturbing knowing that Jabari Parker, also a coveted 5 star recruit, is averaging 16-17 pts so far for Duke! Why is that? I just haven't seen one glimpse of a 5 star recruit yet, and am wondering why. Is it too early to judge? Is it him not being developed well under Martin? Or, is he simply another Scotty Hopson in the making?

Too soon. Five star or not, he's a freshman.

You are seriously comparing him to the number 1 freshman and possibility the number 1 player overall? You are clueless man.

The system each plays in has a lot to do with it as well. IMHO

still a little early. I have a feeling that coach Martin kinda wants to see him earn it a little bit with his defense first. The more hard work he puts in there the more he will play. Coaches do that stuff all the time I remember when Jamal Lewis didn't start the first couple games as a freshman because he couldn't pass block.

Talent is there...however like Dobbs in football I am not seeing the "intangibles" yet. It could be he is waiting for the seniors to graduate and for him to have center stage...however most 5* frosh like to grab the center stage now so they will be in the NBA sooner...

In the 2012 class 19 out of the 25 5 stars stayed for their sophomore year. So that would be false.

You cant compare him to Parker. Parker is a special player, not taking anything away from Hubbs but not all 5 star players develop in year one. He has time to develop his game and contribute as a player everyone hoped for.

Too early, OP. But he will not get there very quickly, if at all, playing in this system. I have no idea what Zo is trying to do and it is obvious the players don't either.

On the bright side, I'm genuinely shocked it has taken 10 games for this thread to become a reality. I mean we all predicted over the offseason that it would happen at some point.

Congrats to the Legion of Miserable for holding out so long. I expected this thread 5 minutes post-Xavier game 1. Kudos.

This ranks up there as one of the more idiotic posts ever--what do you guys expect? Kobe?
He's a freshman--give him a chance.

The guy just needs some time to adjust to this level of play. Additionally, I would not label CCM as a offensive guru either when it comes to coaching.

I tried to watch him last game - havnt watched much bball to this point - kid has a nice release and has a good first step - good athleticism around the rim

he will get it together

CCM isnt known as the greatest offensive coach either so i am sure that he is focusing mainly on getting RH to know his defensive assignments

He absolutely will. He needs more minutes and to start assurting himself more offensively. Even studs like Wiggins have trouble assurting themself offensively, and they are starters. And your last paragraph is dead on.IMO

Yikes, nothing ceases to amaze me anymore. Comparing Hubbs to Parker or even Wiggins or even Randle. There are 5 star players, and then there are lottery picks. Been like that for years.

Who needs pass protection when you could run over anyone in your way? HA.
VFL- Jamal Lewis

When have we run sets to get him the ball? Isolate on a defender? Post him up? He's basically been turned into a spot up shooter with a great baseline move last game to try to finish strong. God forbid we get the kid the ball. Let's pound it into Maymon because he's a great finisher and can get to the line.

Give me Stokes, Davis, jrich, mcrae, DT, Barton and Hubbs with Maymon (playing the way he is now on both ends) buying time at the 4 and 5 and I run people out of the gym with open shots for everybody.
