Not shocked at this. I thought them making the tourney would buy him another year, but they did they did the right thing in canning him.

I saw that coming with his talk after the game. He knew what was coming. I think he's an assistant coach some ppl just fit that genre, I think he has to nice of demeanor to be a HC. If something comes open staff wise, I do think Barnes likes him a lot.

I dont see Texas doing that (paying him more than Sark) but I don't see him as a Uconn life either....

Agree. I think Kansas is where he will end up if he ever leaves. UConn don't have the money and he has let it be known that money is a big factor.

He gets extreme $$$$, he gets to be #1 in the entire state, and competing for titles.

He's not getting all 3 of those at Uconn, fake UT, or LAL

Terry was never, ever a long term solution for the Whorns. It wasn’t hard to see.

if I were running the show Nate Oats would be the guy I pursued first, especially if money isn’t an issue.

Who knows, do you have a clue that Kansas would pay that? That’s about double what they’ve paid Self, do you know UConn wouldn’t match or come close? What if southeast west Missouri community college offered 10/200?

Not anymore he’s not, he gets $1m retention bonus every year along with a $1m raise iirc, at seasons end when he gets his bonus he’ll be higher than Self

He actually did fine at Fresno State- took them to the NCAAT. He took the UTEP and did ok but did not get fired. He just took the top assistant job when Beard got hired, and I’m guessing it was more money than the head job at UTEP. I think the SEC just got him this year. He made the EE after Beard was fired and never missed the NCAAT. This is the first time he’s been fired. His head coaching record is actually decent.

I wonder if hiring him would help Barnes stay a few more years because he can rely more on him to do the day to day responsibilities.
