HOV lanes are intended to promote ride-sharing, consolidating the number of butts in seats to fewer cars and reducing traffic. Until a child is born, he or she is unable to occupy a seat in another vehicle. Further, SCOTUS did not establish national law regarding personhood or the unborn but simply remitted the question to states.

Her logic is wanting in all respects.

Another intellectually vacant juxtaposition trying to own both sides of the argument. From those who bear outright animus to "innocent babies" and have no shame or logical consistency.

Being pregnant doesn't grant you license to criminally offend or evade justice. I know of no jurisdiction where newborns are allowed to remain in prison after birth, just as mothers cannot take born children to prison with them. Removing newborns from incarcerated women is just and the best that can be done under the circumstance.

Weird argument but I’ll engage.

Do you believe it’s a greater violation to kill that fetus or keep it safely in its incarcerated mother?

If the child could be safely removed and not have to be in the mother while in prison, that would be wonderful. But it’s not a current possibly so we have to live in the real world which only allows 3 options.

1. Keep the child safe in the mother like we do now

2. Kill the child

3. Allow pregnant women to get away with crimes.

Which do you believe us the best of bad options

It's not like PatRiaRchy protests the 4 closest to the entrance 'Reserved For Pregnant Women' parking spots that are always empty at Home Depot.

The part that these libs stay in denial about....how many CONSECUTIVE bad , irresponsible decisions a person has to WILLFULLY choose to make to end up several months pregnant and wanting to kill the baby rather than simply giving it up for adoption to the thousands of families currently on waiting lists....

1. Abstinence? Hell no lets have sex (overwhelming % out of wedlock)

2. Use birth control? Pills, shots, or implants are over 99% effective all by themselves. Also can be had free of charge if low income.

3. Ok then...use an IUD? Condoms? Spermicide? Many types of prophylactic products.

4. Did none of the myriad options above and had unprotected sex? Morning after pill or "plan B" can be used all the way until 3 to 5 DAYS after the sex . Will prevent pregnancy altogether. Can also be had for free at clinics...cost is only about $30 retail though. Pretty sure any person of reproductive age can come up with 30 bucks in order to NOT have to get an abortion...

Every single poor decision above has to happen in order to end up aborting a baby. ALL those separate chances to be responsible and do the right thing.

One after another after another. So many different, easy, and cheap ways to AVOID getting pregnant. All except number 1 actually allow the woman to have sex as often as she wants to.... yet millions of babies are aborted here in the US. There are more abortions than live births among black folks in NY every year. Think about that for a second. Margaret Sanger smiles about every single one down there in the pit.

** before a moron posts something about rape victims...do not even bring that up without posting what % of abortions are rape victims...please. 0.001? How many zeroes do we need there? Same for the super rare cases in which the pregnancy is likely to kill the mom. 0.01? 0.001? I dont know many people who feel a woman should have to have a rapists child. Thats where plan B or other means to IMMEDIATELY make sure she doesnt get and stay pregnant come into play. Leave those straw men out of this please.

This is it at the end of the day.

Many leftists here in the US have been duped (shocker) into supporting an explicit eugenics program. Many others harbor actual deep-rooted and harmful racism and support things deliberately aimed at harming minority (especially black) communities.

We have plenty of real and objective data now to show the harm left-wing policy inflicts on these folks, and yet we still have people supporting same left-wing policy. What does that say about them?

I am saddened at the level of critical thought by the legal community based on the liberal lawyers on this site. Where do you think the money comes from in those other countries? Elves? Magic? It's merely a shifting of financial burden, that the birth mother, is still contributing too

It's apparent she's highlighting the hypocrisy of granting personhood to a fetus only where it can be used to commandeer womens' bodily autonomy, but withholding it in all other regards where it might benefit a woman (or the child). No law on the books confers any rights to a fetus outside of the abortion laws. That's telling....

It's called common sense. The HOV lane isn't relevant to a fetus in a woman's body. Abortion is a tough issue. People watering it down to shat like this hurting those who are pro choice. Why? Because they look like selfish morons. Stop supporting dumb crap. Both sides. This woman's argument is something a dumb person makes

This discussion cannot be advanced on any merits. The participants are dug in and are reduced to bombs launched across each other's trenches.

Contraception is ubiquitous and cheap. Morning after products are available within a few hours. States keeping the procedure legal are accessible.

Except in some very unique situations, unwanted pregnancy has never been easier to avoid, or terminate if unavoided.

A guy I used to work with came in the office one day and said “liberals are just too damn dumb for me to talk to”…. The way he said it …. Just out of the blue and very out of character had me laughing
