Roe vs Wade Overturned

Wait, this is a religious discussion?
so, Adam received life that way, but if you are following that logic then you are ignoring the fact that he wasn’t ever a fetus.
Further, the Bible never speaks of “rights.” Never, not once. Rights are given by governments. And rights come from the basic belief that human beings have worth.

You are absolutely wrong.

I'm not following that logic and it's not a religious discussion. It's just where I originally got the idea, and I made this totally clear in the last post.

The diagram I shared does not call them "gill slits". They are folds in the neck of the human embryo that is the same in fish embryos, and later turns into gill slits.

These were predicted by an evolutionary scientist 200 years ago, BTW. Some dudes are fkn geniuses.

I was actually coming back to post an edit in that there seems to be a big argument about what essentially comes down to semantics about what is insinuated by the Pharyngeal clefts/arches. (like, pages of it)

And "gill slits" had been mentioned in the discussion hence my citing that specifically.

And his image did refer to them as "proto-gills" in order to dehumanize

It was a bad argument then and bad argument now. So, we know that preborn children are capable of consciousness. So, you are for restrictions on abortion based on this?

Giving a living child up for adoption is emotionally harder than killing the child? That's an odd stance.

Unless you’ve done both not sure how one could make that statement.

•Let me abort child and have no chance
•Let me give my child up for adoption to a good family and let the child live and thrive.

seems the hard part is the person is selfish

Bro, that is not Haeckel's drawing. And from your source...

Not what that article says at all...you apparently did not bother to read it.

At no point in time do human embryos have gill slits....because, you know, humans do not have gills since we are not nor have we ever been fish. See below , from front and center in a highlighted portion of the article:

The drawing did not say a human embryo has gill slits. I can read the article 7x and it will still not refute the drawing because you got the wrong drawing.

Where did you see this? Lol. Comedy. So babies are part fish now while they're growing?

Your initial reason for “consciousness.” Now answer the question. Preview children have the capacity for consciousness. So, when is abortion prohibited in your view?

You didn't even ask that question. You're a pretty big pain in the ass and you act like you're entitled to my responses for some reason. I nailed it from the start with my "bad faith" comment, and you've done nothing but validate that snap judgement.

I never said it was an argument. I said it was an idea. You are trying to win arguments by any means necessary. I'm just searching for truth. IDK what the truth is. IDK when consciousness happens. I don't pretend to have answers and I don't have firm positions. You are interrogating me as if I act like I have the answers when I'm entirely comfortable saying IDK. Do you have the answer to this question? Do you have any good points at all? How about you put some skin in the game? You told us how knowledgeable you are and have offered basically nothing of substance to the conversation. Now is your chance. I won't hold my breath.

I’m not concerned with an immeasurable thing such as “consciousness”.

I know it’s alive. I know it’s human. Those are obvious facts to all involved. I oppose the taking of human life arbitrarily.

It's the woman's right to choose what she does with her body. It's not your choice or mine.

What about the second body? And since you’re calling it a right, does that mean she can make that decision at any point in pregnancy and for any reason?

That wasn't the topic of my post or yours and I can easily get to that later. You stated that giving up a child for adoption is a big deal. This implies that it is emotionally hard. A distinction you never mentioned when it comes to abortion. So I'll ask you directly. Do you think it is more emotionally difficult to give up a child for adoption than it is to kill the child before birth?

I’m not the one who is undecided on whether the dismemberment of unborn humans is Ok or not. Seems like you have a propensity to try and attack and insult the one your engaged with as opposed to deal with your own responses.
