Roe vs Wade Overturned

The story blamed state law. No state law in this country banned this abortion. The doctor could have performed this abortion in Ohio but did not. Why? Attention.
Like anything else, it will depend on where you read the damn story ... but at the crux of it, you had a pregnant 10 year old rape victim who traveled from Ohio to Indiana after being denied access to abortion in Ohio. That is 100% accurate.

The story simply said the girl was denied access to abortion in Ohio ... and she was. You are trying to make yourself feel better about that fact.

Under Ohio state law she could have gotten an abortion. That’s not a matter of “where you read the damn story”. She could have received an abortion in all 50 states. Thus, hoax.

Interesting. Because every story seems to blame republicans and abortion law. Implying the issue was the law.

Rather you’re claiming the issue was Ohio doctors understanding of the law? If so, it would seem you should be agreeing with me that the type of left wing misinformation this story represents is dangerous to women and negatively affects their access to care.

This story is used by the left (including the president) to present a lie about abortion law. That’s dangerous.

The issue is with how poorly the law was written. There is too much room for ambiguity. The administrators at one of the hospitals who turned the girl away spoke about this at length a year ago. I will find a link to one of the articles.

That is not what the girl's family was told at two Ohio hospitals ... Thus, not a hoax.

Notice how many times you had to repeat the same thing to get the guy to come close to understand. Dude's hammered at 1 PM!

Yet both the state attorney general and the state law disagree with you. If 2 hospitals really told her that, then you should be upset with the left wing abortion misinformation, like this story. Because when you guys openly tell lies about abortion, it has real and negative consequences on the women you claim to care so much about.

Thus....a hoax.

The way the law was written is the issue.

This article below mentions the 10 year old, and that she couldn't get an abortion in Ohio ... it doesn't mention where she was turned away. I will find one that does. This article does cover the frustration of obstetricians in Ohio, who had to interpret a vaguely written law.

The Ohio Attorney General also said that no such rape victim existed ... and an arrest was made the next day. The obstetricians in Ohio are the people complaining about the vagueness of the law. Of course, the people who wrote it, think it's just fine.

Not anything resembling a hoax.

Vague isn’t bad. If you have an open ended “serious harm” clause, that’s a good thing if you actually believe this decision should be up to “doctors and patients” as so many on the left proclaim.

It’s not the law endangering patients. It’s left wing “advocates” like Dr Bernard who was fined for making this public. Because they’re misrepresenting laws and causing potential patient harm.

I’m not sure how you don’t see that as a problem

Yes, the attorney general was likely unaware of the case at the time. Idk why you think that’s so important.

And yes, some OBs will complain about any law just like any other group. So I’m not sure why you think that’s important. Some cops complain about body cams. Cool…

Per the attorney general, this girl could have gotten an abortion in Ohio. Per the Ohio law at the time serious maternal risk (as determined by an OB) is a valid reason for abortion.

Seems pretty clear cut here. She could have received care in Ohio. If you’re upset that she didn’t, perhaps you and the rest of the left should stop spreading misinformation about right wing abortion laws which leads to this confusion

I'm not sure how you don't see the girl being turned away at 2 different hospitals as the problem. The doctors cited the ambiguity of the law. They weren't taking any chances with it.

The same Attorney General who said she didn't exist, when an arrest was made in his town the very next damn day? Yeah. Let's trust him. He seems very competent at his job.

You’ve yet to back that claim up. Maybe she was turned away. I can’t say. If she was, that’s more reason you should be worried about left wing misinformation like this.

Why did the doctor go public with this story? Because she was an abortion advocate who wanted to misrepresent Ohio's law

It's reason to believe that the law was written in vague manner. Doctors will err on the side of not performing an abortion under such circumstances. That's understandable.

Only you seem to think that’s so important. Do you think the attorney general immediately knows of all major cases in his state or do you think there’s occasional delays and sometimes people under them drop the ball?

As a former command post controller I can tell you we had plenty of scumbags who got chewed out for failing to wake up generals and notify them promptly of major events on base.

Why do you find this aspect important? And how does this change his knowledge of his own states laws that he is over?

How much of those doctors not deciding to perform an abortion was due to left wing misinformation?

Dave Yost claimed in an interview with Fox News to have investigated the matter. The 10 year old rape victim was in his town (Columbus). He clearly had not looked into it at all.

Can you point to the specific article/interview?
Wonder if the hospitals ever contacted anyone for verification of the law??? My guess is nope, and the reason the AG didn't have a clue this child was turned away...seems a simple phone call would have fixed the whole situation.
